Pizza, you said "Another nut job is on the loose..." can you please tell me how that relates to our discussion about Section 8 and the Olbiston? I am confused. Thank you.

Long before section 8 referring to housing, it was commonly used to describe a discharge from the military for psychiatric reasons. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_8_(military)

yes, thanks, Clipper. I did not know that, but I still don't understand exactly how Pizza's reply applies to the dialouge. Thanks. Keep on the well side my friend.

I do think the discussions belong in 2 different threads.

I've often commented that on Clipper's Busy Corner a thread starting off discussing one topic is quickly changed to another topic. If the name of the thread is of interest to me and I might want to respond, I read down through the thread and find that it's now discussing something entirely different. Very frustrating.

My youngest's significant other (it is getting complicated what to call people these days) has been working on the Obliston restoration as a member of the carpenter's union. Restoring an old building like that has a lot of interesting problems. Also they are doing things like converting 2 small apartments into 1 larger living space. I'm sure rents in the restored units will be higher. The hope is that this project will encourage other investment in Utica housing.
Barb and I are aging boomers still living in the house where we raised 4 kids. We should have down-sized already but for a variety of reasons not yet.

That has been a feature of this group since Day 1. I'm sure I have contributed to the problem since I tend to respond to new topics in an existing thread. I don't know if there is a way to change our behavior.

It has been that way forever and what may be a majority of us have been guilty of wandering off the subject. Bobbiez was notorious, as am I. The forum has never needed a lot of moderating. I have always figured that if someone objects to the discussion wandering off the path they can simply point it out and take the discussion back on topic. At this point I hope that it doesn't become intolerable to anyone.
