wibx950.com/ixp/39/p/girl-scout-cookie-prices-going-up-new-york/We always used to buy several boxes of the cookies but when the quantity of cookies in a box went down and the price went up we were priced out of buying so many boxes. At $6 a box we will probably only purchase a couple of boxes of Kathy's favorites. I understand the need to increase the price due to rising production costs and the cookie drive is a worthy cause for sure, but instead of buying 6 or 8 boxes 3 or 4 will have to do. Inflation has hit everything in one manner or another.

Wow a dollar is a huge jump in price. My fav cookie is one made by the Monks Bread group which is biscotti. They make the most excellent biscotti and each bit is like entering heaven. I love the almond . They sell them in bundles so pricing makes difference. Bundles of of 4 boxes in $49. and 6 boxes is $69. So yes "Inflation has hit everything in one manner or another."

Here's one for y'all. I regularly buy 4 or 5 cans of garbanzo beans for our birds to go in their evening meals. Goya Premium is their favorite as they're a nice size and not tiny pea like little ones. They used to be $1.00 a can, and I wasn't too taken back when the price went up to $1.34. Granted, I don't pay a lot of attention to the price when I reach down and grab four cans, but I almost had a seizure last week when I saw the price had gone up tp $2.36 a can.

Grocery prices are getting ridiculous. We are paying the price for ground beef that we used to pay for sirloin tip roast and a sirloin tip roast costs almost as much as a prime rib used to cost. $5 a pound for ground chuck. Ouch! I wanted a rotisserie chicken to make chicken salad. The damned things are now close to ten bucks and no bigger than an emaciated pigeon.

We used to buy rotisserie chickens because of the convenience until the price went thru the roof. No more. Now we use our own rotisserie but the damn thing is a chore to clean & it's noisy as hell, but the chicken comes out good.

It took up a lot of counterspace, and yes, it was hard to clean. When we bought the air fryer oven we gave it to my son. The air fryer oven has a rotisserie with a spit or a basket to do fries and things. I actually have used it for chicken wings but you can only do a few at a time so they aren't crowded and cook well. We haven't done a rotisserie chicken in a long time but we do game hens quite often and a beef roast now and then. I like to do a beef roast in it because you can put a drip pan under the spit and bast the meat with marinade or BBQ sauce while it turns. The air fryer is also a pain in the butt to clean, but nowhere near as difficult as the Showtime was.

The other half here doesn't like our air fryer because she thinks it makes the food taste "funny". Me? I cook burgers & hotdogs in it & I think they come out great & they're healthier to cook in, imho. If those store bought chickens get any smaller they'll have to refer to them as "game hens".

Yes, we have had to cut back on our GS cookie purchases too. I know that the Scouts get only a small percentage of the sale price. Of the $1 increase, the scouts probably get $.05.
This year's SS increase won't buy very many cookies.
The store bought game hens are probably the right size for two peope.

They priced themselves out of existence for my pocket book so no more.
I love game hens when I clean one I like to let it dance in the sink like a puppet on some strings.
That reminds me of the French Chef and her spoof on the Chicken Sisters. Great episode...
