The new car has a button for just about everything. I was looking at all the buttons on the dash today and I saw one that said "rear wiper." I don't know about anyone else but I am afraid to push THAT one, ROFL!

A new Car? Congratulations! It is new to us. It is a 2021 Chevy Blazer that has only 26,000 miles on it. The little Equinox was just too small to carry any luggage or whatever when we traveled. We are loving it. When we came to NY last summer we had it piled to the ceiling with the coolers and baggage.

[/quote]Congrats! Best of luck with your new toy![/quote
Thanks BHU. The Equinox was the first USED car we had purchased in many many years but we decided that we would forego buying a "new" car due to the ridiculous prices they are demanding for them. We have normally paid cash for a car and haven't had a car payment for many years. When the prices have gotten so high that a person has to finance for 5, 6, and up to 7 years, it is ridiculous. After 7 yrs the vehicle would most likely be worn out and not worth much as a trade-in. Thank goodness everything we own is paid for. I can't imagine being a young couple and having to pay a mortgage payment on top of a $500+ payment on a vehicle, or even worse, on TWO vehicles if both people work and need transportation to and from.
We were fortunate to have found both the Equinox AND the Blazer, both with mileage in the 20K miles range. We don't drive as many miles as we did when we were younger so paying a usuriously priced car payment for a vehicle that goes shopping and on errands around the local area and on vacation once or twice a year would be a waste.

Especially now with many new vehicles now equipped with turbochargers, overhead cams, electric e- brakes, CVT trannies which are crap in many cases, timing "belts" instead of chains, etc. I may be looking for a "new used" vehicle in the near future as my truck is turning into a money pit. And it won't have any of the crap on it that I mentioned.

As I was driving I noticed a shudder so I stopped at my mechanic, he drove it & he thinks it may be in the tranny, possibly torque converter. And you know what that means, ca ching, ca ching! I have to bring it back tomorrow so he can look at it further. It may be time for me to pick up an SUV. I don't tow anything or haul heavy loads so an SUV may be in my future. You can't win.

You are right a button for everything. My coffee maker has a button for auto brew which I accidently pushed last night when I got the pot ready for morning. I had coffee at 4 AM. I never set the clock on the brewer since it is so small in the LED I can't see it. LOL

We love the Blazer. It is just the right size for us, and still gets between 25 and 30 miles per gallon. It is a 4 cylinder with a turbocharger. One only has to hope that the turbo holds up for the duration. I have never had a car or truck with a turbocharger. Check all the brands and all the models. This is midsize with18 inch wheels. It rides nice, the road noise is minimal and the ride is smooth. My brother and his wife both have Honda SUVs and love them. With the turbo this car has plenty of snap getting away from a light or to pass. I won't lie. There are times I miss my truck. I have to have a hitch installed on this car so I can pull my little cargo trailer to the lumber yard. I DON'T miss pulling into a gas station with the 5.7 liter Hemi V8.

I've been looking at the Honda's & there are a lot of them out there for sale & the prices are actually reasonable. I should know more tomorrow about my truck but either way it has to go. I won't miss pulling up to the pumps either as the gas mileage is lousy even though it's only a 6 cyl. Last week I was actually thinking of trading it in before something happens where I wouldn't have to sink money into it & now this.
