wibx950.com/ixp/937/p/rome-walmart-fires-popular-27-year-employee-right-before-christmas/Typical predictable behavior for Walmart management. In the late nineties a friend who was a Walmart fleet driver was unjustifiably fired on the spot when he was turned in by an eaves dropping safety man from the Marcy distribution center. The driver, who had a unblemished 25yr safety record, as well as personnel record, was heard bitching about a dispatcher to another driver over the CB radio. Dispatch notified him on the company in-cab computer to return to the warehouse immediately and clean out his truck because he was being terminated "for making disparaging remarks." I hope that this lady is able to find immediate employment with someone who will recognize her work ethic and dedication to the job so that she will not be unemployed and financially troubled at Christmas time. I hope that there is a worthy employer reading the article who will make her Christmas merry and less stressful.

WM is a terrible outfit to work for. I knew a few people who worked for that company & none of them had anything good to say about that company & it's treatment of their employees. Hopefully this woman can collect on her 401k if she's old enough to retire before they screw her out of that.
This should be a wake up call for anyone who works for them who are nearing retirement because WM is infamous for getting rid of employees nearing retirement age.
WM is a prime example why workers need a Union to fight for employees who are subject to the type injustices that they subject their employees to.

Walmart is Walmart, you come to work, do your job (and the right things), and they pay you for it.
Please don't take this article at full face value, she was not "let go", she was terminated along with several others there after an internal investigation by those much higher up than store level. And that's all I can say about that.
One the other hand, there are a lot of people that criticize Walmart, as I do. Some of their policies are completely ridiculous. If you show up for work on time, do your job and don't call in a lot, you'll be fine. If you're an idiot, you'll probably still be fine as we have our stores full of them. It takes a lot to get rid of someone there despite what folks think. Bad attendance, gross misconduct, violating safety standards or ethics and integrity violations are not tolerated.
In my position I have a ton more policies to follow and if I break any of them, I mays as well hand in my badge and go home.

Ralph, ever tell management at WM, "Yea, and you can have my badge"!"
