Just a little "black" Friday shopping

At risk of sounding like a bigot, it just seems that the majority, or a large portion of the flash mob looting, and high value shop lifting media reports involve "people of color." ( WTH, are we ALL not one color or another?) Not long ago I was reading about a Walmart store being invaded by a large crowd of blacks who blatantly loaded carts with tv's, computers, and other high value electronics, jewelry, cosmetics, and other higher priced items and wheeled it all out the door to waiting cars. It is too bad that the stores can't simply lock all the doors remotely and trap the scumbags long enough for the police to respond. It is hard not to notice how many photos of people arrested are "people of color."

Bigot or not, I am not happy about paying higher prices to make up for the thievery of the criminal underbelly of society.

I noticed that long ago. It is also the same thing for the majority of shooting. They think they are entitled. Either that or for reparations. I am around a lot of them and one thing I noticed by listening to the talk and argue amongst themselves in public is that they appear to have serious interpersonal relationship problems. I am not a bigot either nor a racist but just someone who observes behavior might be a result of former employment.

   This particular perp was the ringleader of a group of three; an older black man and a dumb white man.........well, they're all dumb.
   They had been hitting N. Utica, New Hartford and Herkimer for a few weeks.  In and out real quick, "load and go" style.   We had their pictures, just hadn't gotten lucky.  They hit Herkimer just before the tried us in N. Utica and we were warned they were out and about.
   The minute we saw him come in and recognized him, I was on the phone with UPD.   I stopped him with one of my partners as he tried to go out the GM exit.  Scared him so bad he actually backed his cart up about ten feet before he decided he would run for it.   
   I took the cart to the service desk while my partner caught UPD when they pulled in and pointed out which way he was going.  Can't outrun our cameras, and sure can't outrun UPD radios.  This catch not only saved our merchandise, but we were able to tie him to 4 other events with a total close to $3k.
   These guys do it for the pawn value and are considered to be part of Organized Retail Crime in the area.

   Now to defer to Clipper's comment; yes, most of this type of ORC seems to be perpetrated by people of color.  But on average, we have more white folks arrested for shoplifting.  And regardless of any "color", we have nurses, professionals, addicts, crackheads, etc. You never know what the day will bring when you sit down in front of the cameras or hit the floor for a walk.

Hopefully, he will get a sentence that is something more than time served plus "community service." Theft is theft.

Eons ago when I was about 18 yrs old I went into, I think it was Bradlee's in Riverside Mall. For some reason (because I was never prone to stealing) i grabbed if I remember correctly a fishing lure, It was so long ago so I can't remember, stuffed it in my pocket & headed for the exit. Sure enough, as soon as I got out the door a security guard stopped me. He took me to his office & read me the riot act & threatened to have me arrested. I pleaded with him not to have me arrested & apologized. He let me off the hook, read me the riot act again & told me to hit the road. That guard scared the you know what out of me & that was the last time to this day that I ever took a thing out of a store without paying for it.

The problem these days is these cretins just don't care if they get caught because the most they will get is a slap on the wrist & a warning. Yea, that works.

If he behaves, he'll be out in 8 months to start all over again.
