angelinos.com/blogs/stories/why-i-stopped-buying-k-cups-on-amazon-and-you-should-tooI never buy any food items from Amazon. There is no telling how long any food items have been in a warehouse, or what conditions they were stored under. Let's be real. ANY coffee pods you buy may be stale and I have experienced stale and tasteless coffee from Sam's Club and other food markets. It is the risk we take for the convenience of popping a pod in the machine and pushing the button. I have found that K-cup Folger's Classic Roast and McCafe have proven to be the best coffee I have found in K-cups. Nothing beats a good freshly brewed cup of coffee though and I enjoy the awesome flavor of a good cup of joe any time of the day. I am not a Starbucks fan, but a fresh brewed cup of Dunkin coffee hits the spot. I am not a soda drinker so it is not unusual for me to order coffee with lunch, dinner, or to sip while driving. I have to give a shout-out to Utica Coffee Roasters. I stopped there one morning while we were home in July and got a cup to go. I don't remember what variety I ordered but it was by far the best cup of coffee I had drank in a long time. I bought a bag to bring home and broke out the old Mr. Coffee to brew it with.

I stopped at Dunkin the other day for a cup of their original brew & bought 3 bags of their original for $20. Each bag is 16 oz. not the usual 12 oz bags sold by the other guys. I thought it was a good deal.

Most of the Dunkins around here are attached to a convenience store and the donuts are not real fresh. The Utica Coffee Roasters coffee was excellent But the price would keep my cheapskate self from buying it on a regular basis. I am one of those with champaign taste and a beer budget (or a Utica Coffee Roaster taste and a Maxwell House budget)

Someone gave us a bag of it a couple years ago but I got sticker shock at the price of it. We no longer buy Folgers or Maxwel House. They're bitter imho. I like how they advertise as "mountain grown". What, 50 ft up a hillside? Lol

When McDonald's was open at Walmart North Utica I would have coffee now and then with a retired guy who baked donuts for Dunkin for 35 years. I used to have coffee at McDonalds almost everyday of the week except Sundays. It is difficult to do that now that I live here in New York Mills with the Buses to my place limitations which is a sad thing. Wisk Bakery ( I think another name change took place) owned by to nice and very talented gay married couple has great coffee but limited hours. Starbucks I do not like. So Slocum Dickson deli is a place for great Utica Roasters Coffee for a large paper cup for $2,86 which is ok with me.
I have used the Coffee and Smoothie store in Sangertown they also use Utica Roasters Coffee which is excellent. One thing I never liked is this idea of tipping the person who makes your coffee. What do they call them now Barristers!! I think that is highway robbery. I put a dollar in the cup and the next time I went he made me a medium size cup rather than small cup but charged me for the small. I thought something fishy going on here.

I think I acquired a taste for Folger's before I was born, it was the brand my mother drank. At that time there were people whose name was on the can still involved in running the company. It is now a part of International Foods. I think Juan Valdez retired from coffee and joined The Revolution.

In the early 1950s my mom bought 8 O'Clock coffee because the supermarket had a grinder where you ground the beans fresh. That made a great cup of coffee (they said). I was a little too young to drink coffee then... my brothers and I had to drink Postum (yuck) or Ovaltine. Now I drink dripped coffee with a Mr. Coffee machine. I still prefer it over the Keurig.

I used to drink 8 o'clock coffee years ago when I lived in E. Utica. I shopped at the A&P store on Clinton Place and Genessee St. You could smell the fresh ground coffee when you walked in the door. Who could resist following their nose straight to the grinder for a pound of 8 o'clock coffee?

I buy it on occasion when it's on sale. Good stuff. But right now it's about time for a cup of DD.

Im not a Keurig fan (mostly because of the way I drink coffee…lots) My choice is Folgers made in my Cuisinart coffee maker. I had a Gevalia till it bit the dust. They use to give you free coffee pots if you joined their coffee club. Coffee was great but a bit pricey.

I was tiring of the McCafe coffee and went back to Folgers again. I drink my coffee black and actually like coffee to be a bit bitter. Not REAL bitter but with a bit of a kick when brewed strong. What is the worst coffee I have drank? Chock Full O Nuts. My mom and dad used that stuff. I always politely declined when they offered me coffee.
