I have a primary care appointment at the VA clinic at 11 and then it's time to winterize and put the motorhome to bed for the winter. Time to put away a lot of the summer stuff and give the inside a good cleaning. VA doctor's appointment at 11am, then back home to blow out the water lines with air and put RV antifreeze in all the drains and traps before topping off the gas, adding Sta-Bil gas stabilizer to tank prior to delivering it to the dealer to have the roof cleaned and resealed. Rubber roofs require maintenance and resealing every couple of years and I'm not inclined to climb onto the roof, scrub it prior to resealing, and then paint on the special rubber roof treatment and sealer. I am not comfortable working 12 feet from the ground anymore and with all the vents and the AC needing to be caulked around while working on hands and knees I opt to have someone younger and more agile take care of it.
Whomever said that retirement is all about rest and relaxation was full of crap. I still find myself without enough hours in the day some days to complete the tasks awaiting accomplishment.

I'm in the same boat. Today I spent 3 hours removing a replacement window in our bathroom that had a draft where the window meets the stool. Gee, imagjne my surprise that the installer used one bead of caulk to seal the window, which had dried up. He also sealed the window to the frame with not enough fiberglass insulation to fill an ant's asz. Now I have to paint the trim & seal the window outside with silicone caulk which is now $10 a tube for the good stuff. I'm glad I fired him after he did 4 windows because he kept stringing me along to get THOSE done.
So, I learned how to put replacement windows in myself & did 10 more on my own. And they ain't draftin'.
And like you I'll work off a 6 ft stepladder & that's it.
