For the NFL Tom Brady is like keeping a legendary quarterback in ready reserve, to be called on when a quarterback is urgently needed. The Jets entire season could go up in smoke with the loss of Arron Rodgers for the season. I DID read somewhere yesterday that Rodgers might be able to return to the field late in the season, but in the meantime who better to fill the starting quarterback position than Tom Brady.
I have said for the past couple of years that with every season the risk becomes higher that Brady will receive an injury that will sideline him and possibly affect his mobility for a lifetime. No matter how fit he manages to stay, age raises the serious risk of being sacked and receiving a permanent injury. Sometimes it is just time to quit and go out a winner even though his skills don't seem to have diminished.
