wibx950.com/ixp/341/p/free-covid-tests/I think it quite prudent for the government to once again offer the free at-home tests again. When insurance companies stopped paying for the home tests it left people having to pay anywhere from $10 to $50 for a test kit that would allow for 5 or 6 tests. I am sure that not too many people ran out and bought them unless they were already exhibiting symptoms, and then how long did they wait before they finally tested and how many others did they expose? Kathy and I had both ordered the free tests so we had a ready supply. With Kathy's life in peril after two serious bouts with Covid putting her in critical condition in the ER twice we take no chances. Whenever either of us has felt any symptoms that could indicate Covid, we immediately test and test again a day or so later. At our ages it would be irresponsible NOT to test when we feel badly. The VA will be getting the latest vaccine soon, and YES, Kathy and I will both get the booster. We talked it over and decided that the chances of any side effect killing us in no where near the chance of Covid killing us. I guess it will be worth a couple of days of feeling lousy from the shot. Then I will wait a week or so and then get the flu shot. That leaves me lacking only the shingles vaccination. I am a bit leery of that one. Friends have had several unpleasant and miserable days after each of the two shots for shingles. I am curious. Where do you stand when it comes to taking the latest vaccine booster? What are your views on vaccination for Covid. We have stayed vaccinated and boosted from the get-go, but we have friends that have depended on natural immunity after having Covid during the pandemic. My sister was among them and she has had Covid again twice since then. Thank goodness both times the symptoms were mild.

Had our flu shots already. We will get our Covid shots when available. I've had Covid twice (treated once with monoclonal antibodies). From everything I've read, antibody production (from vaccination or disease) starts to decline in 6-8 months so I expect to get shots every season.

CB yes I have read the same thing about COVID antibodies . I think the same as my Doctor as he says this is another type of flu phenomenon in that yearly vaccines will have to be given depending on the strain of COVID variant that year. Doesn't bother me cause I always get vaccinated but some people think this is such an invasion of there medical health wishes allowing the government to once again run our lives. Heard that scenario many times while traveling by Bus...... Many do not believe the science. I have heard some really interesting explanations about this pandemic.

I and everyone in the place I live have been getting 4 test kits free every month from someone or somewhere. In the last three months they have stopped arriving! I night have 30 or 40 of the things which I will gladly sell for a discount price of $40,00/
covidtests.gov will be the new site for getting the free test kits once again ordered by the President. Just heard that on WKTV news.

My sister was among them and she has had Covid again twice since then. Thank goodness both times the symptoms were mild. A few weeks ago I was feeling really lousy like I had the flu. I called my Dr but couldn't get in for a couple weeks. He called me & advised me to get a Covid test, which was negative. I had to buy the kit, about $10. He told me Covid is still out there & advised me to get the booster. I had the flu shot in his office last week, so I'm good there. I had the shingles vaccine, two shots spread out over a two week period with no side effects. That affliction is nothing to mess with, at any age, but K understand some people had a hard time with it. I had lab work & got the results Monday. Everything was good so who knows why I felt sick.

I have to call Walmart for when the new vaccine arrives. I had the flu and RSV vaccines two weeks age. I'm beginning to wonder if I had RSV. I had some of the symptoms but am feeling better. I'll have to look into that vaccine.

Yes, I've also heard some interesting explanations about this pandemic like the ones that contributed to the deaths of 200,000 people who refused the vaccine after listened to guys like DeSantis who convinced people to listen to them about this pandemic & not experts who actually devote their lives to treating & preventing infectious disease. DeSantis is now he's running his mouth about the new booster. He must need a few more notches to scratch wherever he keeps score.
