wcyb.com/news/local/jonesborough-historic-white-oak-tree-fell-during-mondays-storms#It is a landmark that will be missed by all who ever saw it. It stood in someone's yard but at over 100 feet tall you could see it from many vantage points as you drove through town. The fame surrounding the tree reminds me of when I drove for Central Coach. When we traveled to Florida from NY we always used to swing into Savanah and drive by the oak tree that was made famous by the song "tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree." The people on the bus would take photos of it. It was nothing special. Just an old oak tree that someone continues to tie with yellow ribbons.
