From schools to homes, fight fat on all frontsI agree with Mr. Bottini's assessment. Kids need more exercise and better lifestyle changes on the home-front. Instead of having a bag of potato chips at night, eat an apple. There are many athletic clubs and organizations that children could join throughout the year for exercise and to develop other important life skills that athletics offer. Parents need to factor in more time to encourage these activities and lifestyle changes. What my parents would do is make large dinners on Saturdays and Sundays and then have leftovers for during the week. As my brother and I grew older, we began to take on cooking some meals.

I think this is the right place for this post. It's not really news, more of a viewpoint, but I dunno.

Fast food joints should post on the food wrappers the amount of calories and FAT contained in each item. If you check into this it is crazy what we actually put down our throats.A heart surgeon friend of mine showed me a video of a open heart surgery where accumilated trans fat, etc. was being removed from a heart artery---it came out like a long thread of spaghetti. Maybe this type of video should be required viewing for all students.

Gee concerned, if they put that info on the wrappers, NOBODY would eat it, haha. I always said that the healthiest way to eat a bigmac was to unwrap the burger, toss it in the trash and eat the wrapper.
My better half and myself, eat mostly from subway and taco bell when we have to have junk food. It is not really much better, but at least there is a balance between the bad and the good when it comes to choices. We have found that the McDonalds grilled chicken wraps are good, and the only bad stuff is the dressing or bbq sauce. We usually get ranch. It is a wonderful innovation from the home of the grease burger.

haha, I like subway but now that my cholesterol is so high I've been rerouted to turkey in all its wonderful forms, but I do cheat. Guess I'll do the oatmeal thing a couple months before the next blood test.
