www.cbc.ca/news/ontario-cursive-reintroduction-1.6893378?utm_campaign=mb&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_source=morning_brewDuring my student days, I took extensive notes during lectures. I seldom referred to my notes when studying for tests. I found that the act of taking the notes seemed to imprint on my brain and I could read them back in my mind's eye. I also know that my notes generally were in outline form. I needed to process and organize the information as it was presented. This was much easier with some instructors than others. My cursive handwriting is terrible. My father also had bad handwriting but his lettering on engineering drawings was perfect. I never mastered that skill.

I learned how to write cursive in a Catholic grammar school many years ago, taught by nuns who would make a studen't life a living hell if they got it wrong.
Nowadays they don't allow people like that anywhere near students.

I wish I has those Nun's, actually Sister's, there is a big distinction when I was teaching. I had one 7th grade Life Science class beside my two classes in Biology and the hand writing always gave me a huge headache.
