Why is it that when I create a thread and go back to the subject post it already shows that a number of people have already read it? I just created one and came back and it said it had been read 4 times. Thats impossible.

It's the "bots" folks; just the bots, and nothing but the bots.......so help me bot.
They read much faster than we do, and we have more of them here because we are basically on open board.
It's why the damn banner ads change all the time as well.

I've heard of bots, but don't know what they are in relation to reading the threads. Whenever I start a new thread, it always says "read 4 times", too. Are we haunted here at Clipper's Corner??  |

Anytime you post anything on the board, chances are it has been read dozens of times by the "bots" or search and seek programs, adware that inhabits ProBoards (which is how they make their money, by advertising) and adjusts the ad banners, etc............before you can back to see it yourself.
We either have to put up with it or pay for it ourselves.
On the other board I Admin on we have it closed, but being "free" we still put up with the same stuff. Most of our posts are only read twice before we get to hit the refresh button!

Believe me Ralph, if there was a source to pay you from, I would gladly pay you for all that you contribute to the successful operation of this board. Without you and Kim, it would not have ever gotten off the ground.
