I ordered an item from Amazon. It was picked up by the carrier in Atlanta area. Today when I tracked it it was in Union City California. Atlanta is only 290 miles from Bristol. Seems just a touch inefficient logistically to ship it 2100 miles to Union City California only to turn around and ship it 2100 miles back to Bristol Tn. Thank goodness I don't pay for shipping.

A couple of times I have had the same thing happen to me using Amazon and also Etzy. Most recently I bought something from LA, California. It traveled to Chicago then to Texas then to Buffalo then to Syracuse then back to Rochester and then to Utica. I had to laugh as I was following the tracking. I have an artist that I like and his work is great and I bought one picture he drew with colored pencils. He lives in Mexico. It can take up to a month just to get out of Mexico then hits Texas to Rochester to Syracuse then Utica then New York Mills.. I bought two more of his work two weeks ago and it has not made it out of Mexico yet. I wonder if it travels by donkey. One thing I learned is that there is no duty for purchases.
