During the storm that toppled the big pine tree into my neighbor's yard, a limb on our big maple split and drooped so that the branches out on the end of the limb hung almost to the ground and I had to duck to mow under them. Each time it has drooped farther I have cut it as high as I can reach with my 10ft pole saw. So far I have picked away at it 3 times and have taken about 20 or 25 feet off of it. The butt of the limb where it meets the truck is about 15 feet or so above the ground. I think I finally have it defeated. There is only about 6 or 8 feet of the limb left and the remainder is about 6 inches in diameter, so I don't think it will be drooping any more. When Kathy's nephew is here later in the summer I will have him go up a ladder and cut the rest of it back to the trunk.
