We are experiencing the same sort of day that those of you who live in CNY are experiencing. Only in the low fifties with clouds and a steady breeze making it uncomfortable to be outside.
It is a good day to lay low. I have to run around this morning and pay our car insurance and then the plan is to hide out in the workshop to straighten up after going in and out, leaving things laying about while concentrating on outdoor projects.
It looks like it is going to continue to be gloomy and chilly for most of the week. I thought I was through burning wood in the shop for the season, but I think tomorrow morning I will be lighting a fire in the woodstove. The blood thinner leaves me seeking warmth and a flannel shirt in this kind of weather.

I think the weekend is to be fairly pleasant. I hope it will be nice for the Coronation. We do not want a wet King and Queen as they formally begin there adventures. I hope Harry behaves and stays away from William and Kate. Harry will be seated away from the working royals.....
Our maintenance man Keith has been busy pressure spraying the two large BBQ grills we have. One for each patio for building A and building B. He also pressure sprayed the patio's. We received the May calendar of events and a picnic is in the making for Memorial Day. The 31st looks busy what with flower planting around the property and bingo at 6 PM.

I mowed the lawn Thursday & it needs to be done again. I bought a new battery powered EGO weedeater from Ace Hardware the other day, but it's too wet out to use it My gas powered one keeps eating line which means the advance won't work & I don't feel like messing with it. It's a Murray that I bought at a garage sale 5-6 years ago, so I'll just stick it in the corner till I get sick of looking at it then out it goes.
Pike opens this weekend so I hope the weather is good.

I talked to a friend that runs the bait and tackle shop at Leland Ponds. She said that she had seen only one customer before noon and she talked to someone at the beach and there were 5 foot swells rolling into the canal and pouring rain. When I worked at Griffiss there was 4 of us that always staked our claim on the pier on the Sylvan Beach side, and got there early enough to back our trucks up to the pier across from Yesterday's Royal, set up our chairs. Beer drinkers had coolers, we coffee drinkers had at least two thermos bottles of hot coffee, enough sandwiches, boxes of donuts, snacks to stay until Memorial Day if we had to. if the walleyes were still running. I always brought my boat and if the fish weren't in the canal I would launch the boat at Marion Manor at daylight and fish the lake. I always took time off for opening of pike season, opening of trout season, opening of bass season in June and opening of deer season southern zone.

A bright and sunny day here with blue skies and puffy white clouds floating my. Windy and cool. 54 degrees with a stiff breeze. Good day to take a ride to check out a campground on the Watauga River near Elizabethton Tn. The sites are right on the river and it is a favorite place for trout fisherman. The photos of the trout caught sucked me right in. I can't resist taking a look at the place. Nothng fancy. Basically a fish camp. They have electric and water hookups, picnic tables, fire rings, and clean bathrooms. It looks like a great weekend getaway spot, only 25 miles from home.
Life is much easier now that we have the motorhome. No hooking and unhooking the trailer. Fully self contained. No need to play with cranking down leveling jacks anymore. I can sit in the driver's seat and level the camper with electric hydraulic jacks. Using the trailer had become a cumbersome chore for me as I got older. It took me about a half hour to get hooked up and ready to go, another half hour to unhook and set it up at the campground and then we reversed the process to pack up and come back home. Now we just have to put our food in the fridge, our clothes in the closet, get in the motorhome and drive to the site. Ten minutes to plug in the electric, hook up the water hose and level the camper. Within the first half hour we can be set up and relaxing by the fire with a cup of coffee.
If we like the place I will probably make reservations to camp for a couple of weekends or 3 or 4 day trips after we get back from NY in July.
Just side note, but this time of year we both wish we were there in NY, where we could head North to any number of state park campgrounds in the beautiful Adirondacks. Wish we could have the best of both worlds. The camping here and the lakes here don't compare to upstate NY.
