I took an extra day off this week as Betty had to go for her yearly visit with her neuro Monday, so I don't have to go anywhere today. Tomorrow...........that'll be another fun story I'm sure.

I was just watching the weather channel & they're saying we may get hammered with another 12-18" of snow this weekend from a storm coming straight across the country.
March coming in like a lion.

It is an unpredictable time of year. We had almost 70 here again today, but they are saying that we may see another freeze before all is done. We just went out to dinner at Red Lobster and I was wearing a polo shirt. It was 64 when we went in and is barely 50 now. I actually turned the heat on in the car on the way home. This afternoon we went to Johnson City for Kathy's appointment with the doctor that treated her skin cancer a year or so ago. I had the windows down and the sun roof cracked 3 or 4 inches. I am not getting too anxious. We have had weather like this in past years and still had a killing frost as late as the third week in April.

Predicted highs for the next week, mid 80s. The owner's son is mowing the lawn today, He put the top down on his convertible before driving here.

You and I probably should stop rubbing it in to those looking at a weekend of nasties.  Going into the mid 70s here again today with sunshine. At least with March coming into upstate NY like a lion, it will most likely begin to prance lamb-like very shortly. My son is ecstatic. He and his wife are going snowboarding and skiing today for the first time this year. I guess it is typical spring weather for upstate NY. In the past I have gone from T-shirt weather one week to wearing a snowmobile suit to fish on opening day of trout season on April 1st. We have had no accumulating snow all winter. What came during the night would be gone by 10am. My worry is that with such a mild winter we are probably facing a sweltering summer of extreme heat and humidity. If we could afford two homes I would ideally like to live here from November to April, and spend April through November in upstate NY. |

Sounds like Utica is in for another blast of winter, slippery roads, and blustery winds. Hunker down and stay warm and safe. We are under a high wind warning that is serious enough to close all the schools here.

Calm before the storm right now. Today was a very nice day. Tomorrow who knows but it ends at 1PM. I hope I do not miss out on a bus ride tomorrow cause staying in for more than one day a week is not my cup of ginger lemon tea.

Nothing here yet but it's coming. Total snow will be about 9" so no big deal. First day of Spring is 17 days away......
Did I say Spring? Next week is looking cold & snowy.

We managed to dodge another bullet. It gets scary with the threats of high winds and tornados here, but so far in 20+ yrs we have always dodged any major damage. Everything has passed by now and all is well.
