WTH! I just got feeling better after the surgical procedure and now I have the crud that is going around. Kathy had it and now I have it. It is a cough, runny nose, bronchial symptoms, and sore throat. No fever, and negative home covid test. We were at her doctor today for her follow-up and he said that HE was just getting over it. It runs it's course in about two weeks, but a round of antibiotics and prednisone seems to speed things along. I am taking OTC cold and flu gel caps during the day and Nyquil Cold and Flu at night. Hopefully I can shake it without the prescription drugs.
It was a beautiful day today. It went into the mid-seventies. Before we went to her doctor I fired up the chain saw and finished buzzing up the tree I started on yesterday. Tomorrow it may go to 76 degrees and I will finish bringing the wood across the road and piling it.
I am getting my strength back from the other episode and being out in the fresh air actually seemed to make me feel better with the cold and flu symptoms.
This respiratory crud is hitting a lot of people here. Is it going around up there in NY? No fever, settles in the upper respiratory tract without getting down into the lungs. Just makes a person feel crappy, with a loose cough and cold symptoms.

A lady here had that and she lives on my floor. I am glad she stayed in her apartment until it went away. I wear three masks on the Bus and when I have anyone within 6 feet of or less I also wear eye goggles and I place cotton balls in my ears. All this to prevent getting the respiratory bug.......
Get well soon and rest and drink chicken broth

Last time I had a cold like that was fall 2019, just before the "covid attack" started shutting everything down. Hoping to continue my luck streak. I hope you feel better soon, you don't need anymore grief.

Still feeling like crap. I slept 9 hours last night and still woke up feeling like I never went to bed. Coughing had me awake more than I was asleep. I am not going out of the house today other than to take the dog out.

I've been lucky so far this year, haven't had so much as a cold. So far. Last year was a diffeent story, I think it was around this time that I had Covid.
I'm due for the senior pneumonia shot which supposedly provides more protection then the other one.

I may go to urgent care if this doesn't start turning the corner by tomorrow. People are being treated with antibiotics and prednisone and it seems to help.
There is so many bugs going around right now and with Covid hanging over our heads and that RSV virus there is no room for taking chances at our age if you are in a vulnerable group with pre-existing conditions.

Still struggling with the respiratory thing. It seems to be settling deeper in my chest. Now I have a deep and dry cough and can't bring anything up. It has kept me up for the last two nights and this morning I am really feeling especially rotten. It has started to break up and I would start to feel better and then in the evening it comes back with a vengeance and I feel rotten for another day or two. Time to see a doctor. I called around to the urgent cares in the area. The VA clinic is backed up with 2 1/2 hour wait time, one other is a 2 hour wait, and finally I found one that registered me for 11 o'clock. They said that everyone coming in with those symptoms is being tested for covid, flu, and RSV and that the waiting room is full all day long with people with the same symptoms I have. They are prescribing antibiotics and prednisone just like Kathy's doctor did, so hopefully that is what they will prescribe for me and I will get to feeling better. Between the complications with the surgical procedure and now this respiratory thing I have really been feeling pretty rough ever since February 6th when I went in for the procedure. When I get out of there I will have a couple of hours before I have to be in Kingsport for the final follow-up with the urologist. It is just my luck that I found a doctor I like and he is leaving the practice the 3rd of March and unloading his patients on a partner who I dealt with when he was on call when I went into the hospital. He is an arrogant dickhead with no bedside manner and an abrasive personality so I imagine I will be searching for another practice. Yup! I STILL can't catch a break, LOL. Wish me luck.

Hope you feel better. I've been feeling lousy since Sat. but nothing like you're experiencing.
When you see your urologist maybe he can refer you to someone. Just tell him his partner is an asshole. He probably already knows it anyway.

I just came from urgent care. They said I have some pretty severe bronchitis as well as a sinus infection. They prescribed a heavy duty antibiotic, prednisone, a prescription nasal spray, and an Albuterol inhaler. That should cure everything except the shock to my wallet in copays, haha. I just grabbed a quick sandwich before heading to Kingsport to the urologist. I will ask the doctor for a referral to someone else, but how do you tell him that his partner is a rude dickhead, haha.

LOL! That is pretty much what I told him and he referred me for my 3 month follow up with one of the other partners who is taking new patients.
