Syracuse, N.Y. - A gun magazine, ammunition and a razor blade were found in the backpack of a Syracuse elementary school student Monday, according to Syracuse police.
The student was a 5-year-old kindergartner at Porter Elementary School, police said.
There was no gun found, only the gun magazine and the ammunition, Lt. Matthew Malinowski said Tuesday. The student did not appear to know the items were in the backpack, he said.
Police said they are still investigating why the child had the items in the backpack.
