Try to find an employee with a key to unlock those cases. Bring your lunch.

I remember when they had people on the floor in just about every department. Now even if you find someone they get on their little walkie talkie and tell someone else to come and help you. Then you wait forever anyway.

I'm not trying to defend anyone there, but we are very understaffed right now. Not only finding people that want to work, trying to get folks hired is almost as difficult.
As far as locking up piddly stuff, you would be amazed at how that adds up. I had a stop a couple weeks ago where the girl just let go of the cart and boogied out the door. She had a full cart of what I can typical "under the bridge living stuff". Clothes, underwear, socks, snacks, but the biggest part was the bottom of the cart full of off the shelf cosmetics from HBA. The clothes weren't all that pricey, but when I get done adding all the cosmetics the cart came to $899. Last week they had a kid walk out the GM door with a cart that had three TVs in it, threw it in a small SUV and drove away.
If it's unlocked and on the shelf, they'll steal it.

I was at Walgreens not long ago and the razor blades are under security lock and key. The blades I use are like $18 for 4 blades, but I can shave for almost a month on one blade.

Razor blades are locked up at Walmart. One thing for sure all the thefts add up and many stores are going to lock up as much as there merchandise as possible to save money. I don't blame the stores that will be doing this this year I blame the people who think they are just entitled to merchandise and take it.
