There is a position such as you described who's job is to handle top secret documents & turn them over to the proper authorities. When Biden left office as V.P. that position was vacant. I don't believe for one minute that Biden took those documents with him deliberately. He's not Trump. Not even close. When Biden left office as V.P. , Mike Pence was sworn in. The position was not vacant. Normally when an administration changes, transition teams work from election to inauguration on transfer of official documents and retention of personal documents. There is a position in the V.P's office who deals with official documents to ensure that during the transfer of power docs are tranferred fronm the V.P.'s office to the national archives or wherever. When Biden left office that position in his office was vacant. I'm sure that during the transfer Biden didn't have time to sift thru thousands of docs to make sure that they were sent wherever for safekeeping. I'll bet Pence didn't do it or any other V.P. Just saying.

Just saying. Sorry, I misunderstood your original post. I never heard that before. Why wouldn't that person have a backup or some other process for document transfer? It doesn't seem reasonable for any one person to be responsible for the chain of custody of documents for a position like that. A little transparency on how we handle transfer of power would be nice.
