If you have been listening to the news you’ve heard how bad Buffalo got hit with the storm. They are still digging out. We got missed by it. Just a dusting of snow and blustery cold weather. I drove Saturday to pick up my Christmas dinner and a few items to help me celebrate Christmas. Later in the week temps will be reaching the 40’s….a heat wave. Stay safe and warm.

Glad you are safe from the ravages of that big storm. Sorry for all the inconvenience that you are already experiencing. I hope you managed to have a pleasant day in spite of the situation that they have put you in. It is a strange weather system that seems to be affecting most of the Eastern half of the nation. We have had temperatures ranging from 20 down to zero with horribly low windchills, and as is the case where you are, it will be warming a little each day until it hits the low 60's this coming weekend. It is going to be 42 today. A pleasant relief from the cold. Stay warm and stay well my friend.

Usually the January thaw around here doesn't hit until middle to late in the month but not this year. Buffalo is probably going to have some flooding issues if that mess thaws too quickly. I always had mixed feelings about the January thaw. It was nice to get a bit of warm weather, but it was also sloppy and messy with the black snowbanks, slush, and all the accumulated trash that litterbugs tossed in the snowbank. Any word yet as to when you will be able to go back to your building Chris? The "hotel life" must be getting a bit challenging and depressing. It is going to be a very nice afternoon here. I picked up my new compressor that Kathy bought me for Christmas yesterday. I love it. Boys and their toys, haha. My old compressor is over 25 yrs old. I was beginning to wonder how much longer the compressor unit itself could last before it just gave up. It takes a little longer each year to build pressure and recovery time is slower. www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-20-Gal-200-PSI-Oil-Free-Portable-Vertical-Electric-Air-Compressor-C202H/312074157The old compressor was only a ten gallon capacity and would only produce 100psi. The new one with it's capability to produce 200psi and the 20 gallon tank will work much better for me. While I do use air tools, the task I use air for most often is to blow sawdust or shavings out of the saws or off the benches so I can just blow it out the door and off onto the lawn with a leaf blower, depending on the volume of dust, so today I am going to work on plumbing a pipe along the wall with a couple of additional connections where I can put a couple of extra hoses on hangers so I don't have to move the compressor around other than to take it outside to use for tires or to blow the water out of the pipes on the motorhome when I winterize it. I hope that Santa was good to everyone. Anyone else going out for the after Christmas half off sales? Kathy isn't that crazy about shopping, but she always hit the stores the week between Christmas and New Years Day to buy wrapping paper and such when the prices are a real bargain.

Have they stocked the shelves with Valentine's Day crappage yet or will they wait till New Years Day? Lol LOL. Kathy is a candy eater. She buys M&Ms, Reeses cups, and whatever other chocolate she can get her hands on. She doesn't care if Santa Clause in on the wrapper or not. Usually gets a couple of boxes of Brach's or Whitman's assorted chocolates too. She will shop for valentine's candy too on Feb q5 or so, haha.

Luckily I have about 20 feet of rigid 3/4inch copper pipe in the storage building left over from when we re-plumbed the house in 2001. That stuff has gone up to about 30 bucks for a 10ft length. I didn't accomplish much today because I was busy with other things. I need to pick up some copper fittings from Lowes and the compressed air fittings and solder from Harbor Freight.

Walmart would rather pay to warehouse that crap until next year than to give a customer a break. When I drove a truck they had a warehouse in Pennsylvania where they kept all the left over lawn mowers and tractors, and in the fall the broke out the snow blowers and warehoused the mowers until spring rather than have a sale.
