www.allrecipes.com/recipe/8468498/cowboy-candy-candied-jalapenos/I love spicy foods and hot peppers. When Kathy was canning cucumbers she made me 6 pints of sweet pickle relish with diced jalapenos. Great on hot dogs and burgers. I found this recipe on-line and Kathy made me a quart today to try before we make any quantity of it. It is also supposed to be good on sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs. The only changes she made was that she added ground cumin to the liquid rather than cumin seed, and she left out the anise seed and red pepper flakes. I couldn't find anise seed in the store. Fresh jalapenos are plenty hot enough without the crushed red pepper flakes. I tasted the liquid before she poured it over the peppers and it was sweet and spicy and when it was cooked down to pour over the peppers in the jar and kept in the refrigerator for 3 or 4 days teh pepper slices will take on a sweetness and the liquid will take on some of the heat from the jalapenos. Looking forward to putting some on kielbasa sandwiches later this week.
