I don't know how you would get there PB, but several places that sell soft ice cream in that area have pistachio ice cream in the summer. We used to go to Dave's Diner on Herkimer Rd in Schuyler in the evening for pistachio soft ice cream cones. There was also a place in Clark Mills near the tracks when you come into town from Whitesboro. I don't know if it is still there. The only place I can think of that serves it that you could get to on the bus would be Nicky Doodles in the New Hartford Shopping Center.
Pistachio is my favorite flavor but it doesn't seem to be popular here in the South. I have literally never seen it anywhere around here since we moved here in 2001.

Her pistachio cake has pistachio instant pudding mix added to the cake as well as to the whipped cream frosting. It is delicious. I would hate to even know what the calorie count would be or the amount of fat and sugar.

pistachio cake with whipped cream frosting that sounds delicious. I love pistachio ice cream the smooth one that is light green in color but I can never find it anywhere. I remember it as a kid years ago and I had it when I was in Missouri but everyone here has the variety with nuts.I cannot eat any type of nut because of my hiatal hernia in esophagus!!!!! I do not want to go through that pain associated with that. Kookie Q's on N.Genesee where Nicky Doodles used to be has soft pistachio. I've had their ice cream & it's very good. I like pistachio & I wish it was sold in cartons but I've never seen it.

Kathy caught me sampling the pumpkin pie last night, taking a little taste of the filling with a teaspoon. When she discovered the missing little nibble she came back into the living room, put her hands on her hips and threatened my life, haha. I guess I better not stick my finger in the icing on the pistachio cake.
