It is only 34 degrees here right now with an ice cold wind blowing out of the NW. We may get snow flurries tonight.
Heat pump is cranking out the heat and I am laying low with a head cold that has left me feeling downright rotten the last couple of days.
I wanted to light a fire in the woodstove and work in the shop today, but I just don't even have the energy to build a fire and wait for the shop to warm up.
Kathy is making home-made beef vegetable soup. It's a good day for hot soup and Lifetime movies.

Same here. It's about 40*, cloudy, light rain on & off all day. Looks like winter is here with rain & snow showers all week & temps in the 40's. Can't complain though, we had an awesome fall. I too am laying low after changing out a GFCI outlet in the garage that failed.
Hope you feel better.

WE had a cold night and it was only in the 20s when I got up but it has warmed into the 50s now.
I am still feeling miserable. Head full, and nose running like a faucet. I was supposed to have a surgical procedure done tomorrow at Franklin Woods Hospital Day Surgery in Johnson City, but it has to be done under general anesthesia and the anesthetist cancelled until I can get rid of this crud and be able to breathe. It was originally scheduled for Oct 18th but the doctor didn't supply United Healthcare with the info they wanted so the declined to approve it. The doctor finally got off his ass and sent them what they needed and filed an appeal. No word from ANYONE until today. They called and told me that it was scheduled for tomorrow. DUH!! I am supposed to be off aspirin for 7 days and my Eliquis for 3 days before surgery. Come on people. Get your shit together. Now we wait AGAIN. The most frustrating part of it all is that when I call the office they say that someone will get back to me within 48 to 72 hours. Damn people. If it is going to take them 2 to 3 days to answer a phone call maybe they need to hire more staff.
There was snow in the mountains along the TN/NC border last night. They got enough to enable them to open a ski area. I am assuming that on cold nights recently they have been running the snow making machines and making a base deep enough to ski on.

I've been having the same amount of fun with my ENT's office. I was supposed to be scheduled for my septoplasty on November 1st, but they never got back to me. I told them I needed to know 3-4 weeks in advance so I could schedule my vacation for it. I received a message in MyChart a week before Halloween. Checked it out and found out I had to be in two different places for tests the following week, and then my procedure on the 1st of November. Called my ENT's office and managed to get it all cancelled. Then they rescheduled. Hadn't been in to see Dr. since May, so my insurance denied it. Now I have to be seen in December, procedure tentatively scheduled for January after that, and vacation put in for it. What a PIA!I hope you get better and get your situation fixed as well.

I went to Urgent Care this afternoon. They tested for covid and the flu and both tests were negative. They found that I have a rather serious sinus infection with fluid on both ears and a green post nasal drip. No fever, but a splitting sinus headache all day today and pain in my sinuses that I canactually feel in my teeth and below my eyes. She said that it was not unusual to feel it in my teeth because the roots of your teeth go way up behind your cheeks. She gave me a 10 day regimen of Amoxicillin. I haven't had a bout with my sinuses this bad in years. I suffer with my allergies and headaches but at least I can usually find relief with allergy medications.
The doctor said that they are inundated with RSV, Flu, AND covid patients. When I was sitting in the waiting room with my mask on I looked around and was the only one with a mask. I felt like I as sitting in a petri dish.
I am glad I didn't go with my sister and brother in-law last Friday night to see a production of Elf that my brother is directing. Both of them tested positive for covid today and are feeling miserable. I didn't feel well on Friday so I cancelled so as to avoid spreading whatever was making me sick for about the last week.

Hopefully that antibiotic will knock that infection down soon. There's a pediatric unit in one of the Syracuse hospitals that is full of kids with RSV. I haven't heard anything about the state of our local hospitals as far as RSV is concerned. The local news media is preoccupied with promoting the Comets.
It's snowing here now & it's sticking to the ground.
