Glad to hear that your fate has finally been decided and that they are putting you up in the Hampton Inn. All you need is a crock pot to supplement the fridge and microwave in the room and you can live quite comfortably there for that period of time. Get some rest and recover from all the stress and uncertainty that they put you through.

At least they put you up in a decent motel like Hampton Inn & not some dump. Most of the roadside motels around here are nothing but drug dens.

The last time we came up there we stayed at the Red Roof behind Denny's in Herkimer. The Red Roof in N Utica has really turned into a dump. We stayed there a couple times years ago. Too many construction crews, druggies, and other shady looking folks. With our little dog we have to stay where they accept pets. We were supposed to stay at the Towne Place Suites in New Hartford but they made a mistake and called to tell us that we would have had to move somewhere else for the last 3 nights of our vacation. We are getting too damned old for all the loading, unloading, moving, and getting settled again, so we just stayed in Herkimer the whole time and were quite satisfied with the Red Roof. No long-term residents, welfare vouchers, drug activity or pimps and whores.

Best of luck and it should be a great time as you spend the wait at a hotel.

Hampton Inns are one of the better hotels around here. The druggies & other assorted riff raff can't afford the room rates & management probably wouldn't put up with them anyway so that sane people can relax during their stay.

A girls worse nightmare😱 (well mine at least) found out the makeup I had was not with my stuff.not sure what the movers did with it. (Hey I wasn't born beautiful, need all the help I can get 🤣) And on Saturdays I fill my meds box for the week. My potassium I just purchased was missing but lucky for me I had left it in the car. I called BC and they said it could be refilled again but that I would have been responsible for the full amount , 65.00, cause it was too early for it to be refilled by the insurance. Day 2 and already going crazy. I have Spectrum cable at home and there is Spectrum here in my hotel but it is so much different than what I have at home. All that is on is 🏈. My PBS shows arent on, no shopping channels. Thank God for wifi and my iPad apps that stream in what I want. Went down for breakfast. Coffee scored 100 but very very hot. I grabed a little omelet, premade and homefries and a muffin. Grabbed an orange for a snack later. They had waffles but you make your own. I didnt want to mess with figuring that out. Getting up so early to go grab breakfast is killing me. I usually start my day with coffee first, then shower. Maybe while i. Here with nothing to do ill catch up on my books on Kindle and my Books on iPad. Clipper you mentioned bringing a crockpot. What do you cook in it. With no place to keep food or place to prepare?

There must be a book available on Kindle, something like "101 Crock Pot Recipes to Make in a Hotel Room."

When I traveled for the Air Force if I didn't stay in visiting officer's quarters I usually stayed at either Holiday Inn or LaQuinta. A Master sergeant that I often traveled with when we did site visits to our construction teams in the field always carried a small crockpot and ate in his room quite often. I don't know what all he cooked in it. He was a Korean and ALWAYS had kimchi along for the ride. HIs breath would knock you over, haha. I know he mentioned cooking ribs with BBQ sauce, and smoked sausage and cabbage. All our GI's, young and old, carried electric skillets or crockpots when they went TDY. Usually so they could spend the per-diem on beer or in strip clubs, haha. Myself? They paid us per-diem so I sure as hell wasn't roughing it. I usually ate at the officer's club at whatever base we might be at, or in a restaurant. If I ate in my room I usually just ordered a pizza brought take-out back to my room. With a microwave and fridge I am sure that there are plenty of frozen entree's and such that you could cook in the microwave. I don't envy you. Having spent a lot of time in hotels and officer's quarters, it gets lonely and claustrophobic living in a hotel room, with the all the coming and going, slamming doors, and inconsiderate people talking in the halls at all hours of the night. As for the waffles, they usually have a measuring cup of some sort and you just put the batter in, close the lid, and wait for a light to come on when it is done. That's Kathy's favorite hotel breakfast. When we stay in a hotel I always get up early, go down for buffet breakfast and bring breakfast and juice back to Kathy. I'm a tight wad. I can handle getting up early if I think of how much I am saving by eating for free rather than sitting in diner waiting for a $6 or 8 dollar breakfast. Heck, the Air Force isn't giving me that per-diem anymore, haha.

Although you might be allowed to make food with the slow cooker in the kitchen or kitchenette provided, the slow cooker will most likely not be allowed in your hotel room. What is this? It's always safe to ask the hotel management either way, but don't keep your hopes high, as the hotel might not allow you.

If you want to use a crockpot in the hotel, use one. When you are through with it wash it and put it in suitcase or a plain box on a closet shelf. Just don't cook with garlic and they will never know that you aren't just warming stuff in your microwave. NO hotel wants you to cook in your room unless it is an efficiency suite with a kitchenette.

Day 14 and still no fun. Monday I called my apt complex regarding a Stipend I understood I was to recieve. She was going to look into it and get back to me. Today Thursday and still no call back. Am I to live on just breakfasts as that is the only meal offered here on the house. Ive been saving all my receipts so I better get reimbursed for this. Im starting to see how poorly this renovation has been planned and it just started. Found out that the A/C I purchased cant be kept .. i paid over 1000.00 not counting the installation for it. I dont know of too many people that purchase in wall units so not sure if I can resell it.

I think you could resell the a/c unit. I see many places around here where people have units installed in there windows.
I feel sorry for you. One of the reasons I moved was because how poorly the housing development was handling the total renovation of the building I was in. Also other reasons that involved my actual survival. A new lady moved in a week ago and I was surprised to find out she was from the Marcovian Apartments in downtown Utica. They are elderly/.disabled. The big problem is with the disabled. After the renovation they were promised there old apartment back That did not happen. It took over a month to get all her furniture back from where it was stored. It was in several places~~~who knows why. Her new apartment had a drunk living on one side and a prostitute's on the other. She said the noise was unbearable. Seem like all I here about senior and disabled apartments in Utica is that they are all buyer beware. No one seems to care anymore!!!!!!!!
Even this new place I am in has a few problems. Big issue is no elevator. Granted only two floors but the stairs are steep and carrying groceries up is a problem. Second there is no noise control. You can hear everything from apartment around you. A very elderly lady under my apartment has a very loud and I think dangerous cough. She hacks for like 10 to 15 minutes long with coughing up flem and even vomiting in her sink. It really bothers me when I am trying to eat!!! Or sleep!! Like when she starts at 3 AM!!!!! Good grief Charlie Brown.
The new apartment complex that was built on Middle Settlement Road has its problems too. Brand new place and some resident that is disabled fell asleep while frying chicken. Started a fire that spread cause much smoke damage to that entire floor she lived on. They had to put everyone up at one of the hotels at $180. a night for a month while repaired were being made. Found that all out by a guy I know who moved to that place. Big problem there is the Bus run every two hours!!!! Not good for me!!!!
Best of luck.

My unit is a wall unit. Window units are much easier to resell but not everyone has a need for the wall.
