I started getting a sore throat and burning sinuses last night. This morning my throat is pretty raw and my sinuses still burn. No cough, no fever, but a bit of a runny nose. Just overall feeling crappy.
I would not be so concerned or in a rush to get tested but Kathy has barely survived being hospitalized with covid twice and spent time in ICU and on Bipap, barely avoiding the vent. I have had all four shots as well as my flu shot so I am hoping it is either the flu or severe allergies. Preferably allergies.
Wish me luck. I really don't need to be down with covid or exposing Kathy to it.

Hopefully allergies. I got my flu shot Friday at Walmart. I forgot to ask if they have the new booster for this new variant of Omicron.
I had eight test kits that I saved from the government and when I moved somehow they got lost along with some other things of mine. Apparently as my sister puts it I have to much.....She also said and this has been bothering me since I moved was: when I die everything goes in the dumpster!!!! Imagine that
That is why at 74 soon to be 75 in November I hate to spend any money on a mattress and box spring and then have it thrown out when I die. I guess I will keep sleeping on the couch and /or floor until that time comes.

I am still older than you. You haven't caught me yet.
Put the mattress and box springs on the floor. You can be a bit more comfortable but still feel you are doing your penance. Added bonus, if you fall there will be less harm done.

That wouldn't work for me CB. If I slept on the floor with my back and knees I would have to call AAA for a wrecker to get me on my feet in the morning. Just got back from urgent care. No covid and no strep. She said it is probably my allergies although I have never had such a reaction before. Usually just sneezing, stuffy head and sinus headache. The ragweed is in full bloom around here and I mowed across the road the day before yesterday. There was a pretty good breeze blowing so that is probably what it is. She said people are coming in that have never had that sort of allergy attack and it is knocking them on their butts. I guess having the allergies get worse is just one more thrilling event that goes with the old age. PB, you need to hang in there at 74. If you croak before I do who the hell am I going to pick on? If ya are worried about your stuff going in the dumpster will it to the rescue mission and Salvation Army so that someone who needs it can have it. Who knows, there might even be a couple rides left on your bus pass, LOL.

PB, they are giving the new vaccine boosters here. Kathy is going this week to get one. That will ease my mind a little bit. She has only had the first two shots. Her doctor said that her natural immunity was probably stronger than a booster would be, but it has been so long now since she last had covid that he finally advised her to get boosted.

There seems to be a lot more pollen and mold here in the South than I ever encountered in NY. It has been so hot and rainy here of late that the weeds have grown tall and hardy. I guess from here on out I will wear a mask when I mow or work around the yard. I have always had hayfever and allergies but never had any problem controlling them with a Dristan tab or two or Allegra.

As I've gotten older I've discovered my sinuses just don't like me. All too familiar with the sore throat from sinus drip, drives me crazy.
I am waiting to hear back from my EN&T Doc to schedule my septoplasty. Having my nose broken when I was a lot younger it has slowly gotten to where one side is really hard to breath through at times. Doc said wait till after summer and he would take good care of me. Now if I could just get his scheduling nurse to do the same.
I'm just glad that's all that's bothering you, you don't need any more covid coming to visit.
