It rained a steady drizzle almost all day today. I got very little accomplished. I actually spent 2 hours playing Texas Hold'em poker on line just to waste time. I feel sorry for the folks that have three day tickets to the Rythm and Roots music festival downtown. They cancelled some of the activities due to weather.
I finally broke down and replaced the 15 year old garden hose that sprung pin hole leaks and peed on my back while I was using it the other day. I had enough of patching it with pieces of rubber hose and clamps. It was such a needle fine stream that I didn't feel it hitting my back until I moved to get up and found my shirt soaking wet. I unhooked the hose cart from the faucet and took it in the carport where I could stay dry while I changed out the hoses.
With the size of our yard I have a 100ft hose on the side by the driveway and 2 fifty foot hoses in the back yard at the spigot that I use to water the garden. I got rid of the cheap 100 footer, broke down and bought a farm and ranch or contractor grade hose at Rural King. $54 but it will be worth every penny. The old hose was a cheapy from Lowes and was flimsy. It would kink all the time and I would have to lay down the nozzle and walk back to the kink and straighten it out.

After 15 years looks like that hose paid for itself. Lol. I had a 50 ft rubber hose that was heavy & a pain to coil up. When it sprang a leak I tossed it. I need 75 ft of hose to water my garden & then it barely reaches, so I fill 5 gallon buckets with water put them on a cart & pull it to the garden. It's getting to be a chore.

It is a toss up between a long enough hose or buying two shorter hoses. The 100 foot that I bought today is heavy duty, and therefore pretty heavy and bulky. Not so bulky as to be hard to use, but 100 feet of it fills my hose reel right to capacity and makes it heavy to move around. Between having 100 feet in the back and 100 feet on the driveway side I have enough hose to pressure wash the entire house, and 100 feet lets me wash the entire driveway all the way to the road.
