I have gained back so much of the weight I lost after my heart attack that I am disgusted with myself and ready to ease back into a regular exercise routine. I could join a gym for free with my United Healthcare coverage, but I also qualify for what they call "phase III" at the cardiac rehab facility where I did my original rehab. They have the NuStep machine that I enjoy and for $3 a session, billed monthly I can have the advantage of exercising with the added safety of having a staff of cardiac RN's.
I take my Ipad, get on the machine, and watch a Netflix movie or program while exercising both legs and arms. Watching Netflix takes my mind off the time and I usually managed to go 40 minutes of steady workout without stopping. I will probably be lucky to do 20 minutes to start out with, but I hope to get back into it and to lose about 50lbs. I did it before. All I need to do is get motivated again. All of the staff is very friendly and they come around and check on you periodically, and monitor you. I loved it before. It is something to do when the outside work winds down for the winter. I am not one to sit around idle.

Best of luck Clipper. You can do it. I was wondering how to you find United Health Care as an insurance to have. I am getting nothing with Medicaid because to use it I have to pay a months spend down for the month I claim and that cost over $250, for me which I think is crazy. however I see Medicare Part B raised its deductible to $233. for me. I still have $13.00 to go before I use that up. So I have been paying what Medicare does not pay everytime I use my Doctor which has been 4 times this year including a physical then 3 checkups. I also have to go back again since my BP went up over 140 for the top number and he does not want that. I took it again today and it is down to 131. I was thinking of getting United Health Care or AARP or Aetna. I hate all that stupid work that has to be done just to understand it all. Frustrating to say the least.

You should probably qualify for the same sort of advantage plan that I have. I pay copays for specialists and for a hospital care, but there is zero premium, and I even get $100 every three months to order non RX items such as OTC medicines, toothpaste, and other health related items. I was paying well over $260 a month for a Plan F with no copays for anything but the premiums were killing me and rising every year. I don't have drug coverage with my plan because I get my medications mailed to me by the VA. It not only gives me good coverage with chiropractic, eyes, and limited dental and no premium so my SS deposit is a bit fatter each month. Check it out well, and research the benefits. Being a disabled Veteran the VA picks up the slack for my drug costs and specialties that I can have done there and get copies of the results for my civilian doctors. I am not at all familiar with what medicaid covers so you will have to tally the savings to be had by having the advantage plan to supplement medicare and medicaid.
