www.wjhl.com/wjhl-weather/forecast/storm-team-11-scattered-showers-today-flood-risk-increases-tonight/We can say whatever we care to, but the extreme weather of late points to climate change as a possible cause. The poor flood victims of Eastern Kentucky and Southwest Virginia are once again facing the possibility of more flooding as yet another storm system moves into the area tonight. The flooding is rapidly approaching cataclysmic proportions as are the drought conditions in the Southwest, the wild fires all over the West, stretching from Oregon to New Mexico. Here in our area we have been subjected to more than our share of rain lately, but thankfully the tri-city area has been spared of any serious flooding. We basically had only one day last week without rain, and once again rain is forecast for every day this week except Wednesday. Is it just me or does it seem that extreme weather events have become more numerous and wide spread in all regions of the country? Are we looking at the grim possibility that this sort of weather is going to be the norm going forward or is it just a passing and hopefully isolated period of weather related misery? Is this the result of climate change and only the beginning of the problems?

I fear that California, the Southwest & states like Texas are headed for a catastrophe if they don't get rain & soon. Couple the drought, the widfires & extreme heat things are not looking good. And half the Country if not facing drought conditions are are experiencng a lack on rainfall.
