recipes-ideas.com/chitterlings-recipe-2/?fbclid=IwAR0cSTIG9G2TkbCq0jyblkV_L3zAZ1BH4nt2oyFTj-68ws40v5JS6t2qFUUI see the tubs of frozen chitterlings in the market all the time but I had never heard of hog maws (pig stomachs.) Just looking at the photo was enough to make me gag, but if any of you are feeling brave and adventurous here is the perfect recipe for disgusting pig innards. There isn't enough hot sauce in the world to get me to choke down even one bite of that mess. I love beef tripe cooked Italian style, but I have to draw the line at pig guts.

When I lived at Marino Apts in Utica on 5th floor the black lady who lived next door loved to make those chichterlings and the smell of them cooking was horrible. Smelled like crap. I had to spray air spray and a lot of it. I remember the Bosnian guy who lived next door from her on opposite side said to me one morning does she every flush her toilet!!! One food I like is tripe. I have a recipe given to me by a old family friend that is delicious. Only thing is it takes a lot of work to prepare them. I haven't HAD any in years. The Italian deli at the corner of James St and Mohawk St makes them called Danielle's
.I like them coked with a light tomato broth and potatoes chopped in small cubes. Tasty

Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive Ins & Dives featured a restaurant that made chitterlings. He sampled them & almost gagged. Same thing with head cheese. Lol

LOL! guy doesn't eat eggs either. I can see him passing on the chitterlings and head cheese. A person has to have a taste for the head cheese. When Kathy's dad was alive I used to stop at the store for him occasionally. He loved studzienina (Polish head cheese) for the Pulaski Meat Market on Lenox. I turned my nose up at it until I tried a studzienina sandwich one day. It was pretty good. So good in fact that I have been known to buy a pound of it along with our keilbasa, to bring home from vacation. I wouldn't eat it every day but it is quite tasty.

I wonder if he has ever tried lutifisk. I tried that at a church lutifisk dinner when I lived in Duluth Mn. I ate one forkful and the smell of the stuff coupled with the disgusting taste forced me to leave and leave a full plate behind.
