Other than a greek salad with kalamata olives and goat cheese, or an occasional gyro I am not a real fan of Greek cuisine. I used to eat at Symeon's occasionally but it was not my favorite place to go. The spanakopita sounds good though.

Acropolis Greek Restaurant ยท 621 James St, Utica, NY 13501. I think is best of all. Sorry that Spiro the owner just recently closed it and sold the place after many years of operation. When I lived on Mohawk St near him I was there a lot and always got the Friday fish fry. I will miss him. Only thing is that the wait to eat was long. But the wait was well worth it. Stathis Greek eatery om Genesee St near Price Chopper is another perfectly delicious place to eat. Authentic food and I just love to see there food truck drive around town with that beautiful blue and white scene of houses and ocean in Greece. www.stathisgreek.com/

I guess I have never given Greek food a real chance. I am not crazy about lamb and I am fond of spice and heat. Greek food tends to lean more toward savory than spicey. I love spicey food. The spicier the better. Seldom do I sit down to the table without the Texas Pete hot sauce on the table and jalapenos are a pantry staple. I put them on salads as well as sandwiches. I DO like Baklava. I did love the fish fry from Symeon's.
