The article doesn't tell us the break-down of the pump price, how much goes to federal, state and local taxes. They may argue that it is a tough breakdown because it is tough to account for property taxes (state and local) and wage taxes (state and federal) which are paid by the companies which produce and sell gasoline through the complete supply chain.

I did not catch TV tonight but I think people will save around 22 cents per gallon being shaved off. Here it is Oneida County to cap gas sales tax starting in June, coinciding with state UTICA, N.Y. – The Oneida County Board of Legislators voted Thursday to approve a cap on the county’s gas sales tax to coincide with the changes to gas tax recently passed in the state budget. The 2022-23 state budget includes a sales tax suspension that goes into effect on June 1, which will reduce the price of gas by about 16 cents per gallon. The county will now cap gas sales tax at $3 per gallon, suspending the 4.75% tax share on regular, mid and premium unleaded as well as diesel. “Well, coinciding with the state with getting some relief on gas prices, I asked the board to cap our gas price tax at $3, so that anything over $3 in Oneida County is not taxed. So that would present a savings of an additional – at what gas prices are today – 6 or 7 cents per gallon,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente, who recently proposed the resolution to cap the sales tax. Depending on gas prices in June, drivers are expected to save more than 20 cents per gallon when the caps go into effect. The county’s tax cap will remain in effect until Nov. 30, and the state’s will be in place until the end of the year. www.wktv.com/news/focus-economy/oneida-county-to-cap-gas-sales-tax-starting-in-june-coinciding-with-state/article_52d0296e-c1b3-11ec-b195-8f95421ecdfa.html#tncms-source=loginI don't know but this seems fair and a good thing for these most trying times.

Maybe Jared Kushner can ask his buddies over in Saudi Arabia to ramp up oil production. They just gave him $2 billion dollars to jump start his new Wall St investment firm.
Trump, Kushner & MBS seem to be pretty tight.
Birds of a feather flock together.

Maybe Joe Biden could reverse his premature and poorly planned spite driven assault on the energy sector. I imagine that would have a much more productive effect on the problem than Jared Kushner making any appeals to the Saudis. Kushner and Trump are irrelevant when it comes to resolving this particular issue. It is a bit farfetched to assume that Jared Kushner hauls that much water.

Maybe Kushner can ask Quater to intrevene after they bailed him out of that white elephant he owned in N.Y.C. for $1 billion that wasen't worth the soil it was built on. That entire tribe seems to be pretty tight with Middle Eastern Muslims.
