Prepaid gas cards will be available to some Chicagoans

What do you think. I like the idea but why not allow gas consumers to lock in a price for gas at a certain price provided they purchase so many gallons. For instance a set price at say 150 gallons of gas. You use that card anywhere and the price you pay on any day is the same as the rate your originally purchased the gas.

Prepaid gas, CTA cards will be available to some Chicagoans pending City Council approval

CHICAGO — Mayor Lori Lightfoot alongside city leaders on Thursday announced that prepaid gas and CTA cards would be made available to qualifying Chicagoans amid rising gas prices.



In a Thursday press conference, Lightfoot announced the Chicago Moves program which will dedicate about $12.5 million to help Chicago residents with transportation options as they continue to deal with inflation. If the program is passed by City Council, about 150,000 Chicago households will receive assistance.



Up to 50,000 prepaid gas cards of $150 will be distributed to eligible residents via a lottery system. Applications are limited to one per household. Beginning in May, cards will be distributed in five monthly waves of 10,000 residents.



To be eligible for these, applicants must be residents of the city, at least 18 years old, have a current and valid city sticker with correct mailing information for their vehicle, and have a household income at or below 140% of the Area Median Income for Chicago.



In addition to the prepaid gas cards, the city will also distribute or add value to 100,000 cards for use on CTA in the amount of $50 each.



In order for the program to go into effect, it must first get City Council approval. If it passes, applications for the cards will open on April 27.

If the recipients of the 150,000 $1.50 gas cards are smart they will put the gas in a U-haul and get the hell out of that crime ridden cesspool. Their disgusting mayor hates the police department and has cut it to the bone while increasing her own personal security detail to 65 officers, including some SWAT cops.

Well of course that is the entire premise of Black Lives Matter. They just want to be left alone by police which they see as a white power force against anything they do. Everything from Bail Reform to defunding of police to setting up community standards that police departments have to answer to is all part the the total scheme. Why you ask because soon they will be the prominent color in the USA.

I see this every day on the Bus. An example from yesterday: Young Black girl gets on Bus inserts her prepaid Bus Pass into pay machine and the buss goes off indicating a bad card. Driver said no problem just run into the office and they will give you another card ( this happened to me no problem)( we had 12 minutes before Bus was to leave to get in office and out would take 4 to 6 minutes at most) she started yelling at the Bus driver saying that in not my problem it is your problem over and over again. So driver backs down of course ( he was white ). Well he calls office and supervisor comes out. Now he is Black. He explained that the company is having problems with Bus fare passes being bought from the machine inside the office but there is no problem You already paid for your 10 ride pass just go inside and get one that works on this machine. She refused saying that is not her problem it is your problem. So I do have to say the supervisor handled this well because I have seen this get ugly. He said give me your address and phone number and name , Well she yelled again before he could finish his sentence. Then he said I will bring  you the new Bus Pass in the morning directly to your home I just want to make sure you are up and that this number belongs to you. Fine she said but this is still not my problem....Idiot I say
