Heading out for a favorite seafood dinner

A bit of a change from the usual Sunday dinner at home. We are heading to a favorite seafood joint in Elizabethton Tn. Kathy has had a hankering for some broiled ocean scallops. Mayflower has just about every variety of seafood under the sun (except for haddock ) They have huge platters on the menu. I usually order a captains platter with an assortment of items. Today I will order a fried clam platter. Their clams are not the little strips with more breading than clam. They serve nice plump clams with just the right amount of breading. Something different from my usual. I will wash it down with a strawberry lemonade and finish up with a slice of pecan pie.

We are just getting cabin fever and want to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine. It is cool and breezy but sunny and bright. Great day for a short ride. I need to stop at Lowes on the way home for a replacement for a lamp socket that shorted, arced, smoked, and scared the hell out of Kathy last night. She has already made me promise to get the socket and get out. I have no self control when I get loose in the "toy department" at Lowe's or Home Depot. haha

I used to love going to Howard Johnson's in N. Utica on the nights that they ran an all you can eat special on fried clams back in the 70s.

Will you be able to move after eating all those clams & pie so you can make it into Lowe's? Lol.

I remember HoJo's, they had a great breakfast in there & the best strawberry shortcake was the best around. Alas, no more.

Nope. I didn't make it into Lowe's last night, haha. I went today and got what I wanted.
