I am glad that the area missed the BIG snowfall that went up the East coast. This storm is supposed to drop a foot of snow? I guess that is a significant amount but in CNY it shouldn't have a huge impact unless the wind starts blowing it around. I remember driving through that much snow a couple of times when I lived on Kayuta lake. It was 2 miles out to Route 12 and I drove ahead in my truck, making tracks for my ex-wife to follow in her car. I am sure it will result in some school closings and a snow emergency in the city.
You will probably have to walk in the street to get to the bus stop to go to Walmart PB. Be careful and dress warmly.

Typical January to February weather; beat us to death with the freezing cold, and then bombard us with more snow. Wish I could sleep through it if it happens.

I've used my snowblower once so far this winter. As long as it doesn't turn to sleet, I'm not worried about it.

I've used my snowblower once so far this winter. As long as it doesn't turn to sleet, I'm not worried about it. There was a time when I loved using the snowblower. I would bundle up and snowblow not only my own driveway but also the elderly couple across the street and if I had time I would do a couple more neighbor's driveways. As long as it wasn't miserable and bitter cold and I could stay relatively warm I actually enjoyed being out in the fresh air. I had a walk behind Ariens blower with a cab that clamped to the handlebars that kept the snow from blowing back in my face. Would I enjoy it now? Heck no! I can't tolerate the cold like I did when I was younger. I used to spend entire days in the woods hunting with snow on the ground but now I wouldn't last 10 minutes sitting on a snowy stump waiting for a deer to wander by.

I don't have one of those cabs to keep the snow from blasting you in the face. I hate when that happens. Lol
Kardas of WKTV last night predicting 10-16" of snow. We're due for a big one.

I feel your pain. I wore a beard for many years and sometimes I had to defrost and thaw my beard and moustache after running the snowblower. My beard would sometimes be crusted with ice. Before I bought the cab attachment I often wore a ski mask, and goggles. The damned goggles would get covered with snow and I constantly had to stop and clear them so I could see. I certainly don't miss having to deal with clearing snow from the driveway and walks. My oldest son lives about 75 miles north of Dayton Ohio and they are expecting to be absolutely pounded by this storm.

We are only supposed to get rain and some snow in the higher peaks of the mountains around us. I was just listening to the news on the radio in my shop. They said that Memphis is getting ice and freezing precipitation right now. Thank goodness Memphis is 500 miles to our west.

Goodness! Might get some ice too? Are you heading out for your daily bus ride PB? Better strap those crampons to your galoshes. I hope Wally salts the walks in front of the NH store. Your daily trip may become and arctic expedition. You are hardier than I PB. I would probably just stay in and avoid having to endure those weather conditions. Grab a hot coffee to go so you have something warm to sip in transit. At least your innards will be warm.
