I cooked a pork shoulder roast yesterday. It was 5 lbs, and we ended up with over half of it left over. We both love home made soups in cold weather. I went to the store and bought 3 quarts of Swanson's boxed beef broth, a bag each of frozen corn, frozen carrots, frozen peas, and frozen green beans. I cut up two medium sized onions, 6 stalks of celery, and diced 3 large baking potatoes. Added a couple tablespoons of granulated garlic, some chopped basil, a two bay leaves, salt and a generous grind of fresh black pepper. I cut the pork up in chunks, threw in a few dashes of Lea and Perrin's and simmered it for slowly a couple of hours it until the vegetables were done. It turned out delicious.
