Any additional air service coming to the area is definitely a positive thing. I have to smile at the term "regular" flights. Southwest's mass cancellation of flights was the first to hit the news. Other airlines also struggle with manpower and logistic problems, resulting in cancelled flights, but Southwest was the first to receive the negative media coverage.
I would not want to be having to fly anywhere with the present very real possibility of spending hours or days trying to get to your destination. A person could go broke eating over priced sandwiches and drinks before they were able to actually board a flight and take off.
Is anyone planning to fly over the holidays? I guess I would simply not be up to the sitting with a mask on for hours on end, or enduring the crowds that will be the norm. It is a necessary inconvenience if your family and destination are more than a short car drive away, but well worth enduring when the ultimate result is spending time and enjoying all the holiday festivities with loving family and friends. I hope we are ALL able to enjoy a happy and safe holiday season. Holiday festivities during this pandemic are certainly overshadowed by Covid, the ever present elephant in the room. It can be difficult to enjoy any frivolous or light hearted fun while surrounded with a threat of illness or death, further complicated by the restrictions, shortages and increasing inflation, but if we stop and focus on the positive and find a grateful level of joy and satisfaction in what has become the new normal, we can enjoy the season. It is a much less restricted and isolated environment than it was last year at this time. I hope we are all enjoy a happy and uneventful holiday season with loved ones.
