Clippper... it couldn't hurt to try it for a month free and see if you notice a big difference. If not then cancel it. If it makes a positive change in your computer's operation, it might be worth $5 a month. Please let us know.

I just signed for a trial offer for Avast Premium which cleans computer of unnecessary material and tunes it up so it runs faster . Well let me tell you something my 12 year old laptop is running faster than lightening. Boy is this machine hoping.

I just finished the free Avast trial and I am getting prompts to subscribe to Avast Premium. Maybe I will give that a shot. I am just a bit leery of buying these things because I got burned a few years ago with a fake MSN site that ended up being a ransom ware thing. It was 40 or 50 bucks and they did clean up my computer but then they tried to charge $300 to my credit card. Some Indian guy started calling after I put a stop to that payment and threatened to remotely destroy my computer somehow and when I hung up on him he called back several times harassing me and ended up calling me filthy names and cussing at me. It went on for a month or more. It made me pretty gun shy about downloading anything that promises to clean up my PC. Avast has been good and identified a lot of problems and corrected them.

I had free Avast but got rid of it due to their constant popups prompting me to sign up for the upgrade. Same thing with CCleaner. I now have Norton for $4.99/month.

Do not buy Avast Premium until you try it or you will pay full price. After you do a virus check by running Avast they also do a performance check at the end. It is then that they offer the Avast Premium. Decline and they will say wait try the program free of charge ( I think it is two months). Go ahead and give you credit card information they will not charge you and you can not accept the offer at anytime. They also will email you 7 days in advance of when the free Avast Premium is ready to expire. So far I like it.

If you go into the settings then notifications you can check the box and turn off all notifications in Avast and I think CCleaner( I rarely get a notice for CC)
