Location details: 960 ft north of Whitesboro St -Oriskany Blvd intersection

Discharge date and time: 10-26-2021 13:40:00
Discharge duration: 24 Hours
Discharge reason: Weather Conditions - Excessive rain exceeded the capacity of the pumping station. Ongoing
Steps taken to contain discharge: The discharged is minimized by adjusting the SSO valve to minimize the discharge and maximize flow to the treatment plant.
Volume/rate of discharge: 3472 Gallons per Minute Estimated
Treated state of discharge: Partially Treated without Disinfection
Additional information: The discharge occurs when wet weather or snow melt exceeds the capacity of the pumping station. When this occurs, a valve is opened sending dilute wastewater to the Mohawk River. This prevents flooding of the pump station and basements in the Villages of Yorkville and Whitesboro. I thought all the huge new sewer and water drainage pipes installed as a result of the Route 5s roadway was to end this. I certainly would not want to live or visit Harbor Point.
