It would end his drug addiction problem, but it would intensify the grief of those who loved him and are left to mourn the loss. It is an addiction. Many addicts end up addicted due to circumstances unrelated to recreational use. Who knows what North Korea does so it really does not apply. As far as alcoholics there is a huge difference between them and drug addicts. Alcoholics are using legal sustenance to their regret. Drug addicts use ILLEGAL highly addictive substances. Oh, ok. If an alcoholic is dying from booze we should help them but a drug addict should be allowed to die in the street. Btw, countless numbers of people are addicted to opiates after being prescribed OxyContin which is legal & at one time was known as "rich man's heroin". Perdue Pharma made billions in profits off that drug knowing what it would do. And the Perdue family? They're living large off the profits from a drug that has wiped out hundreds of thousands of people.

Hey PB, I'm not picking on you just voicing my opinion & I do respect yours even though we may differ.
Have a good one & it looks like a nice Fall day is in the works.

It is a fall day for sure here today. Only going to mid fifties for the high, with wind and rain moving in before noon. Another busy day. Kathy's treatment at 1:30, her hair appointment at 3:00 and bowling at 6:45. Leaves are falling faster every day. With the rain forecast for today I was out doing leaves last night after we came home from dinner with friends. Made my last trip across the road to dump the bins with the headlights on the tractor turned on. Enjoy the nice fall day up there in CNY. I miss the trips to the cider mill, the leaf peeping trip up Route 8, over to Indian and Blue Mountain Lakes and dinner at the Buffalo Head on the way home. I DEFINITELY miss taking the leaf blower and blowing the leaves to the curb for the city to pick up. Can you still do that or do they have to be bagged now?

In Utica you can leave them at the curb, not sure what the towns do. I don't have many leaves but I'm picking up a crap load of deadfall pears that I leave at the curb in a 40 gallon green waste bin. In years past they'd be coverd with honey bees but for some reason this year I haven't seen any. It's a picture picture day in CNY, temps in the 50's sunny & not a cloud in the sky. The leaves are really starting to pop, seems like they're late this year. Mowed the lawn yesterday, probably the last time for this year.

My mom and dad had a pear tree. There used to be yellow jackets and wasps all over the windfall pears. I got stung more than once just picking them up. Finally I decided I would just put on a long sleeve shirt to cover my arms and I would mow right through them with the rider.

What does that mean whole buds but not powder? Is one stronger than the other or that just make it easier to roll.......

It is well know that some of those who are prescribed opioids like oxy end up abusing them because of the high they get from them. Yes they have a psychological reason for that that seems to kick in. So who do you blame the person or his/her psychobiological inclination. Yes opiate pain relief with a kick..... I think the drug companies made billions because Doctors believed their patients who were under a lot of pain. Pain is something that is difficult to scientifically measures in any person. Big reason why docs prescribed more oxy etc for patients.

My day was also very busy today. I walked down to the Hub and forgot my mask. I asked a Bus driver if it mattered and of course I get the driver who demands people wear a mask. So I walked back home to get my mask. Walked back to the Hud since I missed the Bus going to the Hub. Went to Walmart only to find out at the end of my shopping I forget my wallet. So I returned home on the next Bus. Good thing I carry my Bus pass separately. At home I grabbed my wallet so I could return to Walmart and pay for my few groceries. Nice that they saved then for me. When I got there I decided to get a 12 pack of beer and now I am enjoying that. LOL. What a day. Death oh death where is thy sting.....

Believe me that makes no difference to me. I used to have a lot of compassion and empathy for people but after what I have gone through I care less.

I did that no long ago. I had on old jeans I wear to work in the yard and shop. I had the truck keys in my pocket but my wallet was in another pair of jeans on the back of the bedroom door. Thank goodness our bank is in the same parking lot as the market. They know me well enough that they let me withdraw $100 from my savings without ID. Having to do all that on a bus makes for a very long and stressful afternoon. Sorry you had to go through all that.

We have all new residents and how they were picked I cannot imagine. I just stay in my apartment and talk to no one after returning from my outings.

New neighbors? Probably Olbiston evacuees. I always feel sorry for you when you describe life in your building. I know someone that lives in a senior complex in Clinton . They moved from a large house in Little Falls to a very small one bedroom apartment with a tiny galley kitchen, a small living room, and a bathroom. They posted photos when they first moved there. The hallways are dark, and poorly lit, and the apartment has one window in the living room and probably one in the bedroom. The environment there is much safer and conditions much better than where you are PB, but I would certainly feel cut off from the world and claustrophobic as hell in that little confined space. At least the residents are screened by management before moving in and references are part of the process. They had to apply, go for a couple of interviews, and be put on a waiting list for several months. The clientele is a bit different in Clinton than it is in the inner city I guess. I hate it that a person of your talents and previously very productive and moral life is forced to find shelter in such a den of iniquity and gloom.

At my age and with a very bad lower back a part time job could only be something like sitting down like answering phone calls or something.

They used to really screen potential renters but stopped for some reason. Waiting lists are long in the only senior apartments where I have applied. Only good and safe places are Village Point in New Hartford and New York Mills Senior Apartments. I tried the senior apartments in New Harford that were build a few years ago it is near Walmart New Hartford. Beautiful place but not subsidized. Rent over $1000/ month. Guy on a Bus told me to check them out, lol. I had a chance at Country Club Courts in New York Mills but could not find someone to move me. Some also charged to much. I have a full bedroom set, living room with couch and two large end tables and a coffee table. Three book shelves. Plus 5 Tiffany Lambs that cost me a lot and I would not to see broken. Plus a small dining rom table with two chairs. I'd have several boxes for dishes, pots and pans and my books.
Right now this building is going to be remolded. When? They do not say. Could take a year. We would be moved out if need be---where they do not say! They could tell us Monday to pack up and be ready to be moved out Tuesday or Wednesday. They have become really odd acting. They are also desperate for money.... And on top of that they are not fixing anything. The lady toilet or bathtub was leaking and stained my drop down ceiling in bathroom. I hate looking at three large brown stains every time I go in there.
