The photo tells the story of total disregard for anything but their own pleasure. 30,000 plus people crammed into a football game and hardly a mask in sight.
We have the same situation here in this area. There was a music festival downtown over the weekend that was attended by thousands and news coverage shows very few people wearing masks. This coming week is race week, and the campers and fans are already moving into the local campgrounds. There will be thousands of race fans in the stands, in the restaurants and stores, and in the densely crowded vendor area outside the grandstand. There is also a county fair this week.
Hospitals are overflowing with patients, the majority of whom are unvaccinated, stores are crowded with shoppers, the majority of which do not wear a mask, and people still crowd the bars, and super spreader events with no regard for safety. I have little sympathy for those that are unvaccinated, unmasked, and infected. One way to reach "herd immunity" will be when all those morons have died, thinning the herd one stupid ass at a time. My sympathy lies with their families and the people that their ignorance exposes and infects.
Personally, regardless of whether it is government over reach or not, I think the only way we will come out of the latest surge is government mandates on masks and vaccinations. We have done mandatory vaccination for small pox, polio, and rubella, so why is this deadly virus pandemic any different?
