I'll bet a spare key for your truck would run you $300 at a locksmith if you have to unlock it with that key. Mine has a fob & it was $80. The dealer never mailed me a spare like he said he would.

We got two fobs with the truck when it was new and I have since had a metal key cut that fits just the doors and carry it in my wallet. Just yesterday we saw an elderly gentleman that walked with a walker sitting just inside the door, really stressed out and upset. He didn't leave his brand new Escalade running but he DID lock the keys in it and didn't have a spare. I felt sorry for him. He had to be ninety five if he was a day and he was terribly upset.
When the dog locked the door on my truck, the neighbor with whom I was chatting when it happened told me that his son had to $150 for an "unlock call" plus mileage if it was over a certain distance. He reminded me that the unlock key that is contained in the bottom of my fob doesn't do any good if the fob is locked in the truck. I had a regular flat brass key made that fits in a pocket of my wallet.
