strikeslip.blogspot.com/2008/08/how-bad-can-it-get.htmlPlease read Strike's post regarding the WIBX debate between Mike Hennessy and George Joseph. I couldn't have said it better myself, Strike. I posted a link to the video at my website too. I hope more people watch it and read your post, which perfectly disects the meat and potatoes of what was really being said. Hennessy really exposed them for what they are. Now let's see if the rest of the legislature does the right thing, or if they simply rubberstamp this thing because "the bosses" want it that way.

Joseph's responses are pretty alarming. I mean, that's the way we used to argue on the playground in East Rome -- "you're a poo poo head and your mother is ugly!"

hahahaha...That is EXACTLY what they do, especially now that there are some legislators that are demanding questions be answered and demanding accountability. It would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that there is millions of dollars of YOUR hard earned taxdollars at stake.

Larry, I finally watched the debate. Hennesey destroyed every argument Joseph made. The look on Joseph's face was priceless. It was as though he was thinking "Picente and Fiorini are going to owe me big time for taking this beating for them in public."
How anyone can, with a straight face, defend the County''s and EDGE's performance in aviation is beyond me.

Sorry for the late response Frank. I have been so busy that I've been slacking on my internet stuff. I've tried to update the website and just through a new video together. Hopefully I'll have another edition of LarryTV up within the next couple days. I want to talk about Reform in the next video. I'm trying to learn more about video production too. I thought a nice camera, new Mac workstation and Final Cut would do the job. Unfortunately I now have to learn how to use it all.
Ralph, I don't know how you use Photoshop! I've been trying to use it (and I only have the basic version) and it's crazy.
You're right about Hennessy. I think he really exposed their lack of homework and usual politics. The problem is that they "just don't care." The deal has been made and they just need to place the trusty rubber stamp on it. We came across some more interesting information this week too. We had to foil for it, but it leaves no doubt that they (the majority) either lied to us or didn't do their homework. Neither of which is acceptable.

Like put state pressure on them to investigate?

Not really. They're not doing anything illegal (I hope not), they are just failing to protect the taxpayers and failing to let us know the real answers to our questions.

What about breaching a fiduciary duty owed to the taxpayers?

As long as they don't breach it in an arbitrary or capricious manner, swimmy, no state agency will intervene. Breaching fiduciary responsibilities is fine as long as you give the appearance of doing it thoughtfully.
