LOL. It took USA 20 years to get everything working in Afghanistan and take the Taliban out of there. It took Taliban 2 weeks to gain total control of Afghanistan.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — A Taliban official says the group will soon declare the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan from the presidential palace in the capital, Kabul.



That was the name of the country under the Taliban government ousted by U.S.-led forces after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief media.

Taliban enters Kabul

Sooner or later we had to get out of there. The people who are going to suffer are women & children plus the thousands of interpreters & others who assisted us in that hellhole, because those who can't get out will be slaughtered. It's a shame that they'll be abandoned.

We spent 20 years over there & 3 administrators who couldn't straighten that place out. Nobody can. The place is run by crooked politicians, terrorists, opium farmers & money grubbing warlords who would sell their own daughter into slavery for the price of a gallon of gas. The whole country is a lawless sh*thole. Always was, always will be.

I agree that it was time to leave but did we need to so proudly announce the date and invite the Taliban to scoop up any resources and weapons we left behind? The so called "well trained" Afghan army that our troops trained, had no balls or desire to put themselves in harms way in defense of their OWN country as long as American troops were doing the major portion of the fighting and dying.

We might as well have just armed the Taliban and cut out the middle man, instead of arming a cowardly army that surrendered their weapons and walked away.

From what I've heard the Afghan military was underpaid, low on ammo, supplies, etc. etc. compared to the Taliban who are the total opposite. The Afghanis didn't stand a chance against the Taliban who are animals. They're scum. And their funding his coming from the drug trade as their producing meth in factories inside the country & are shipping it all over Europe. Plus the heroin trade. Years ago they were against the drug trade until they realized that they could make millions as drug lords.

This administration has know for months that those who assisted us needed to get out of there. Now there's no way out because they've been abandonded & will now be killed as soon as we leave for good. It's a human tragedy.

Our military should turn the Kabul airport into sand as a goodbye gesture to the Taliban and wait till the place fills up with their fighters to do it.

It was very disturbing to watch a news video of desperate refugees clinging to the outside of one of our C-17's as it taxied out and took off, while people dropped from the sky, plunging to their death.

It was also disturbing to hear that the Taliban had released all the prisoners being held at Bagram AFB prison. A large number of them were Al Queda leaders and fighters. Hundreds of terrorists returned to society to inflict more horrific and deadly acts of terrorism.

I fear that with our Southern border wide open it is only a matter of time before terrorist groups enter the country and carry out terror attacks in our very own cities once again.
