We picked up the motorhome after having the front brakes completely re-done. They changed everything. The calipers were not leaking yet but were on the verge. If a caliper had gone to hell and leaked the fluid out we would have lost the brakes. They also aligned the front end. It drives like a brand new unit now. Brakes and alignment $1,091.23. Stopped at Sam's Club for gas. Yikes. Another 50 bucks. Went to dinner. Another 47 bucks. I think we better stay home and let our wallets rest for a day or two, haha. I was just out with the dog and it is still 84 degrees at 9:30.

Turned out to be a tie rod end & a link for the stabilizer bar. Guy calls, your front brakes are on the way out. New pads & rotors, wheel alignment. A week later, smelled gas. Brought to my guy, gas line shot. Have to remove tank to get at it, line runs over top of tank. Great. Week later, steering wheel binding on turns. Checked fluid, low..Filled resevoir, fluid runs out onto driveway. Back to my guy. Pressure line for pump rotted. New line installed. Picked up truck, guy tells me line for oil cooler going bad, don't wait. Guy orders part from Nissan. Part comes in, installed. Total cost for repairs- $1060.00. Went to Aldi's. Stocked up on Ramen, crackers, corn flakes, etc. Lol

Wow, sounds like a disastrous month for sure. One thing right after another. How old is your truck? It should drive like a dream with all that replaced and repaired. You will be able to drive it for plenty of more miles trouble free now. I feel your pain also. Hey, Ramen is pretty good stuff. I lived on it when I was driving a truck. I had a microwave, a toaster, a hot pot, a refrigerator and lived on Ramen, microwave breakfasts, pop tarts, and hot dogs when I was unable to eat at a truck stop for one reason or another. LOL

LOL Truck is a 2012. I was thinking of trading it in but the body has no rust & with the price of new trucks it's like taking out a mortgage. And now with these trees down looks like peanut putter & jelly sammiches could be on the menu. Lol

I know what you are talking about when it comes to truck prices. My 2016 was $32,000. When I went in for service recently a truck like mine ranged between 53 and 54 thousand. Thank goodness mine only has about 52 thousand and change miles on it and has never seen a full blown winter or many salty roads. If the DO salt the roads here I take it immediately to car wash with an under-wash feature.
Hmmm. Ramen, crackers, corn flakes and peanut butter and jelly? I could live quite contentedly on that menu for a while. If I get hungry in the evening my go to snack is quite often a PBJ sandwich with lots of Peter Pan and a thick smear of Smucker's Strawberry Jam.

Not if you knew what they're asking for new or even used vehicles these days. I could probably sell this truck for a profit & then what? Get gouged on another one like everyone else. No thanks. Car makers are having a hard time sourcing computer chips for new vehicles. And one of the reasons is chip plants, which need millions of gallons of water a day to operate are facing water shortages in the plants overseas. So there's a shortage of new vehicles despite the never ending ads all day on the tube. Foam used in car seats & in boats is also in short supply. Want a new boat, you'll be lucky to get one in 2 years because fiberglass resin is also hard to get.

I have been offered up to $27K for my truck. That is crazy when the truck only cost $32K new. Dealers here are buying pickups outright even if you don't want to buy one of their vehicles. Used pickups are in high demand. There is a small "honest John" type used car lot on the other side of town that I noticed the other day has nothing but trucks lined up along the road. Some were quite old and still had 12 and 14 thousand dollars on the windshield. He even has one of the old Mazda B2000's for $3K. It looks cherry, but when we lived in NY those trucks were noted for rusting out. A guy that worked for me at the base had one that the outer panels on the box were almost gone, the headlights were held in place with duct tape. It finally broke in half right behind the cab one morning on his way to work when he hit a bump in the road.
