This could have been avoided if people had gotten the vaccine, 100 million didn't. People need to wise up & listen to experts instead of politicians who are morons to begin with & have an axe to grind. Them along with ratings seeking self serving talking heads on a certain network have created a monster.

The other day I was listening to an interview program on NPR. In the interview it was mentioned that 97% of the people currently being admitted to hospitals with the original Covid-19 or the Delta Variant are UNVACCINATED. Sadly, many of them never make it home to say to their families, "Oops, I think you'd better get the shot(s)".

UPDATE: Today (7/28/21) the percentage is now 99%. This should tell you something. Get stuck or you might get stuck.

Same thing is happening here although not as bad as in some other places. The numbers are going back up and they are recommending masks again while inside buildings although the governor removed all mandates long ago. We are hanging on to our shorts though because we have the Rhythm and Roots music festival coming up soon with thousands coming to town to enjoy music on several stages around the downtown area for several days. The next large potential super spreader event will be the fall NASCAR race. I think that is sometime toward the end of August. We also have the huge Pinnacle Shopping area that is directly adjacent to the interstate and very visible that draws a large number of travelers from out of the area, and a Hard Rock Casino coming to town within the coming year in the former Bristol Mall.

There are over 70 stores and a wide variety of restaurants on over 240 acres. Our exposure to a large number of tourists and travelers is a boon to our economy but a high risk when it comes to exposure to Covid.

I actually got used to the masks and I am once again wearing one when I shop. Thank goodness I don't need one outside in this 90 degree plus weather. Very few people wearing masks but count me among the people that DO.

There's a concert at the Utica Aud this weekend, some C&W artist I think Toby Keith? I don't know if masks are required & I'm not going anyway. Modern day C&W sucks imho. To me it all sounds the same & I can't tell one artist from the other.

I'll bet the farm that there isn't one person who came down with COVID who isn't sorry that they didn't get the vaccine. Some won't make it. It's a shame.

Even though Kathy and I are both vaccinated I am not taking any chances. If vaccinated people can still be infected with the delta variant I will continue to take precautions. Even if the majority of vaccinated people don't require hospitalization and don't die I damned sure don't want to have it again, and with Kathy's compromised health and previous near death stay in the hospital I fear that she would never survive another bout.

When I listen to those that speak out against vaccination it is hard to hold my tongue and avoid smacking them up beside the head and telling them what I think of their ignorance. The chances of dying from a side effect of any of the vaccines is certainly much more remote than the chance of dying from the virus.

We are close to the start of the flu season Which may become the start of the "normal" Covid season, who knows? Barb and I will remain compliant with whatever needs to be done.

Who in their right mind would want to risk going thru another year like we had in 2020? And if we do we can thank the unvaccinated & those who are encouraging this anti vaxx insanity. It really pisses me off that we may have to mask up again when anyone can get the shot as easy as getting an aspirin.

More businesses including local governments really need to require that their workers be vaccinated or succumb to strict weekly or even twice a week COVID testing. It can be done now in that the Supreme Court cleared the way. It is sad that courts need to be used to make sure citizens become vaccinated so as to protect themselves from this pandemic and protect their family and others.

Even people who are vaccinated can sometimes transmit the delta variant, data suggests.

On Tuesday (July 27), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated their mask guidance, saying fully vaccinated people should resume wearing masks in public indoor spaces if there is substantial coronavirus transmission in their area.

"We have new science related to the delta variant that requires us to update the guidance regarding what you can do when you are fully vaccinated," Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the CDC director said at a media briefing on Tuesday (July 27). The delta variant behaves "uniquely differently" from past variants, she said.

Data from the U.S. and other countries indicates that some vaccinated people infected with the delta variant may be contagious and spread the virus to others, she said.

I also predict serious problems come flu season coupled with this COVID Delta virus and soon to be others.

Those talking heads on Fox, Newsmax & other attention grabbing slime like MTG, Lyin Ted & a few others who are pedaling alarm, propoganda & outright lies about this vaccine are no better then drug dealers pedaling poison in an alley for profit to people which can kill them.

Those monsters would rather see people die then give credit to Biden for stopping this pandemic.

I fail to see where Biden is literally "stopping the pandemic." The vaccines were already in the works when he took office. Neither he OR Trump were miracle workers in stopping anything. Let's give the credit where the credit is due. The major portion of the logistics pertaining to the distribution of vaccines has been a coordinated effort between manufacturers, state governments, and the miracle working healthcare professional community. I listen to the CDC for the most part, but let's face it, they have been all over the place with their recommendations and their "talking heads" have sadly let politics drive the train on occasion.

As far as those talking heads on those "evil conservative networks" are concerned, they are entitled to their own opinion, just as you are and anyone that does or does not get vaccinated based on the opinion of a single news network is some sort of brainless drone that doesn't think for themselves or analyze data from more than one source. And YES, there ARE brainless drones that limit their focus to CNN and MSNBC too.

This vaxing issue is not political. It is a personal decision that has absolutely nothing to do with politics or party. It has to do with having intelligence and common sense. Anyone that bases health decisions on a newscaster or politician's opinion rather than that of a health care professional is a special kind of stupid.

How can the Whitehouse tout their efforts to control the virus when they are leaving the border wide open and secretly dumping plane loads of unvaccinated immigrants into cities with no notice to local authorities? That is not some looney rumor spread by conservatives. It is happening. Our local news carried a story a few weeks ago of a load landing in the dark of night at our local airport and another was dumped into Chattanooga, raising eye brows and the ire of local officials. Talk about super spreader events. Here is another example of how out of control the immigration policies caused by the open border policies of the idiots in Washington DC. Gee, do ya think at some point they might actually wake up and close the border until they can get control of the flow and get a handle on processing procedures?

Finish building the damned wall! It may not be bullet proof but it will definitely deter SOME of the flood of migrants bringing us plenty of covid positive individuals and overwhelming our social programs.
