Wow It is about time. Did everyone here about this. I know two people from there and see many who use public transportation and I do have to say many have some mental health problems. I hope that whatever apartments are secured for them have worked out ways to handle this issue for the health and safety of people in the apartments that these people will rent. Only fair for all involved.
The photo's shown of the inside of the building are deplorable. No one should have to live in that yet I am sure other places are just as bad or become run down without monies to fix things.
I read that the Mayor want to bring the apartment building back to the way it was meant to be. I guess it can move from a slum to upscale luxury apartments starting at $1000/month and up. LOL

Unbelievable. People tossed in the street with no advanced warning & tossed in the lap of local charitable organizations to figure out what to do with them. The place has been a hellhole for years & everybody knew it. This is what happens when greedy money grubbing building owners who live downstate or wherever are allowed to let a building they own detereriorate to a point where people's lives are in danger. The tenants should band together & sue the asses off the people who own that place. Frankly, nobody gave a damn about those people because they're low income poor, disabled & some with mental health issues. It's a disgrace.
The city should haul the asses of the people who own that building into court & let them explain to a Supreme Court Judge why this happened.

I can only imagine the amount of money that would be needed to rehab the place.
