Cicada tacos? Cicada tarts and pies? NOPE! not in this lifetime. She said that Cicada Rhubarb pie was a fail and we shouldn't bother trying it. lol. As far as I am concerned the entire book is a fail unless you are in the woods with Bear Grylls and can't find any 4 legged protein, or wild edible plants.

Pass. Follow her advice and only eat farmed insects so you don't threaten the wild population.

Are cows and pigs insects? If not I won't be eating any insects anytime in the foreseeable future. Maybe they will find a recipe for scorpions, killer bees, wasps, fire ants, and the murder hornets so that the wild population WILL be threatened. Just a thought. Of course I would not be participating in that activity either.

Farm raised insects: adult sized ant farms?

I did eat chocolate covered ants once many years ago. Little teeny ants. All you could taste was the chocolate. I guess Japanese people love unique little treats like that. I tried a small handful of them. The experience was actually quite anticlimactic. A bit disappointing to say the least.
