Quite possibly would have been a meal for a predator bird, maybe a hawk. I see them quite often around here.

They are expensive too. Ralph has two of them. They are beautiful. He also has several littler green colored ones. One of which tried to bite me the last time I was there. haha.

We were on the edge hoping he would come down, but glad someone was able to go up and get him. I am very surprised, and relieved, that he didn't wind up as hawk food. I hope she learns how to clip his wings now. There is no feeling of terror like seeing your bird lift off and go "fly about".
